Ingram for WCJ+Black
Pelicans get WCJ, Black, Cole
Murray, Herb, TM3, Zion, WCJ -- Black, CJ, Hawkins, Theis
Pelicans team gets some balance and depth while moving on from an unhappy BI.
Magic get Ingram, Alvarado
Suggs, Franz, BI, Paolo, Goga -- Alvarado, KCP, JI, Mo
This Magic team looks like a championship squad if healthy to me. Loading up on more iso offense, offensive wings and best defense in the league. Magic bring back Fultz with the open spot.

I'd add Hawkins, feels a bit short for the Magic.
Ingram is the best player here, but his contract situation drops him a lot in value.

Talent wise, this is pretty fair. Problem is BI wants a new contract and he has unrealistic appraisal of his value to a team with aspirations. So I think Ingram just needs a reality check regarding his $ number and that makes a trade for him too dicey right now. I wouldn’t want my team to trade for Brandon Ingram, let’s just put it that way.

Right. I've learned any Ingram trade at this point will only get " no way my team will want BI" replies. Think like you said, it will have to get resolved by Ingram and his agent lowering his contract demands to a somewhat reasonable level with the Pelicans or other teams. That's the domino that may have to happen for him to be traded or extended.
Contrary to how fans thinks "Pels have to dump Ingram for a Center at any cost"--- I think GM Griffin is somewhat comfortable playing hardball and waiting out the situation. We'll see if that pays off or it backfires.

I don't completely love that this would move Franz to SG in the starting lineup but the contract is the biggest issue. I'd rather not pay Ingram's new contract after just paying Franz and needing to pay Paolo and Suggs soon. I'd be much happier being the third team in an Ingram trade but that would mean finding the team that wants to give value for him and give him a new contract he would be willing to sign.

Magic might be able to justify the Ingram price tag.
They have Franz+Paolo+JI locked in at 55% of cap for the next 5 seasons. Add a 30% of cap for BI and you're at 85% for a 4 core. They have a 2 FRPs in 25 that will be rookie deals for the duration of the BI deal.
So I think they'd be in fine shape to take on a 30%

what about suggs and kcp cost? do not like making franz full time sg ...move for magic if shaking up starting lineup this much is adding a pg and moving kcp if lineup does not work

I suspect they keep Suggs but not KCP. Probably have Suggs, BI, Franz, Paolo, JI for 100% of cap. For reference Celtics have Jrue, White, Brown, Tatum, Porzingis for 115% of tax.

Despite the contract, I do like this direction for Orlando. A lot would depend on Isaac health and if he can be that full time 3rd big to ensure that defense is still aggressive despite the loss of WCJ.

Are you putting Wagner at the 2G spot? He shot 28% from 3 last year. Teams simply pack it in and dare them to shoot.

Re: Ingram for WCJ+Black
I’m obviously bias, but I truly don’t think Ingram has this kind of value. If he did he would have been dealt a long time ago.
The fit is very suspect and from everything we have seen so far Wagner shouldn’t be playing heavy minutes at the 2.
Replace Black w/ a protected FRP and this trade is a lot closer imo.

I'd assume you'd put Ingram there.

Ingram and Wagner can both play SG, don't really know how it shakes out nor do I think it matters.

Could replace Black with Harris if too much value.
The fit is there IMO. Ingram generates offense, the set up is actually very similar to Boston in terms of archetypes..

Re: Ingram for WCJ+Black
I wonder if there is a three-way that makes sense:
Ingram > ???
WCJ + Black > NOP
??? > ORL
Some thoughts of player who could work as PART of a package:
Sexton
Anfernee Simons
Donte Divencenzo
MPJ
Devin Vassell (which is actually my favorite?)

Is the fit really there? All 3 players are playmaking scoring forwards who need the ball to be most effective and don't shoot a lot of 3s very well. Ingram especially isn't very active or effective off ball.

no, Wagner cannot play SG. Otherwise we wouldnt have gone out and gotten KCP at SG.

What Ingram does best gets in the way of what Paolo and Franz do best and he doesn't like to defend. Orlando would be better off avoiding BI.
