I think there's always a period where players are saying things like this. I hope Haliburton has a long successful career and retires with us, but this is just the stuff you're supposed to say. All this tells me is that he's not dumb from a PR standpoint.

In Sacramento he was positionally blocked by Fox and the team was struggling to compete in the west. The trade opened the doors to a new beginning for his journey and once he settled in he started to see everything fall into place.
I think he’s happy since the trade to have been given the opportunity to become the starting point guard, become the face of the franchise, and get a huge max payday.
His parents are able to attend his games and he’s not far from his Alma mater. The team has morphed into a playoff team and the organization has made positive player moves to continue to improve the team’s foundation.
I can’t see a better place for him as he saw on the Olympic team that he was relegated to being a backup to almost everyone on the roster(Kerr’s choice)and to go to another team he might not be the priority star. Here he’s the top dog and the organization is building around his abilities to lead and build around him to win a championship.
