2025 NFL Draft

With the college football season about to start we might as well get this one going.

And a mock draft this morning:

Read on Twitter

Great year to need cornerbacks (or really defenders anywhere). Bad year if you need offensive playmakers.

Basically looking at the inverse of this year's draft.

Setting aside the apparent lack of first round quality for 2025...

I f the season were over yesterday, what positions would seem to be most needed to fill?

Center and CB are big needs.

Doubs, Watson, and Melton will be heading into their last years so unless they plan on re-signing everyone I think WR is also a need.

Jacobs is a potential one and done here so I could see RB being an early pick.

Wilson and McDuffie are free agents so they'll need to re-stock at OLB.

Mock on PFF.

16. GREEN BAY PACKERS: DI DEONE WALKER, KENTUCKY
Walker hasn’t been the dominant force many expected in his junior season, posting a 72.3 overall grade. However, that’s still a solid mark, and his rare 6-foot-6, 345-pound frame gives him a higher ceiling than we've seen so far. The Packers' defense looks different under coordinator Jeff Hafley, but Walker is an ideal fit for the type of interior defensive lineman they’ve favored in the past.

Would't hate this, but they have the Packers passing on some really good prospects in CB Benjamin Morrison, Edge Mykel Williams, safety Malaki Starks, and OLB Harold Perkins.

1. Cleveland Browns (1-5) - Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
2. New England Patriots (1-5) - Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado*
3. Carolina Panthers (1-5) - Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
4. Las Vegas Raiders (via projected trade with 1-5 JAX) - Cam Ward, QB, Miami
5. Tennessee Titans (1-4) - James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee*
6. Los Angeles Rams (1-4) - Will Johnson, CB, Michigan*
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (via projected trade with 2-4 LV) - Will Campbell, OT/G, LSU*
8. Cincinnati Bengals (2-4) - Mason Graham, DT, Michigan*
9. New York Jets (2-4) - Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M*
10. New York Giants (2-4) - Carson Beck, QB, Georgia*
11. Miami Dolphins (via projected trade with 2-4 ARI) - Kelvin Banks Jr., OT/G, Texas*
12. New Orleans Saints (2-4) - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona*
13. Arizona Cardinals (via projected trade with 2-3 MIA) - Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia*
14. Indianapolis Colts (via projected trade with 3-3 SEA) - Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
15. Dallas Cowboys (3-3) - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State*
16. Denver Broncos (3-3) - Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri*
17. Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) - Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia*
18. Chicago Bears (4-2) - Jonah Savaiinaea, OT/G, Arizona
19. San Francisco 49ers (3-3) - Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M*

23. Buffalo Bills (4-2) - Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan*
24. Green Bay Packers (4-2) - Tacario Davis, CB, Arizona*

Jaire Alexander has battled some injuries, and Eric Stokes is in the final year of his rookie deal. That makes cornerback a question mark in Green Bay beyond this season. The best one still available on the board is Davis, who also happens to be one of the longest corners in this class. He has fluid movement traits and solid ball skills, as he has 19 pass breakups over the past two seasons.

Team needs: CB, DL, IOL

25. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) - Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas*
26. Atlanta Falcons (4-2) - Landon Jackson, Edge, Arkansas
27. Baltimore Ravens (4-2) - Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan*
29. Detroit Lions (4-1) - Jack Sawyer, Edge, Ohio State
30. Houston Texans (5-1) - Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss*
31. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

I'd be happy with Davis at #24, but my god this draft class sucks.

Remember when Ricky Williams rushed for 2300 yards and won the Heisman, but was the second runningback taken behind Edgerrin James? Maybe I'm nuts but watching Bhayshul Tuten is making me think something like that could happen next April.

Pack should draft some day 3 project running QB next year. Give them a year in the system before Willis bolts to get paid. I really like having that element in a #2 QB. **** isn't going to work perfectly when they have to come in so being able to make a play with your legs is so helpful.

We're going to have to try for a pass rusher again. Gary has been underwhelming, Enagbare is just okay, Smith is old and Van Ness is giving us nothing.

Cornerback and Edge rusher will be the two glaring needs imo. Depth for the o-line will be needed as well but they can get those guys on day 2 + 3.

Main reason why id be willing to go ‘all in’ for Crosby

Can't complain about taking Barron there. It's definitely a need and he's awesome.

But given how Hafley's scheme prioritizes versatile DBs I'd take a long look at Nick Emmanwori.

Guys if the Packers want to commit to this run the **** out of the ball philosophy (working well for Detroit), then

Return to Green Bay Packers
