Post#1 » by MrDollarBills » Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:13 pm

What's your favorite poison? What's your favorite adult beverages. Beer, liquors, spirits. Craft beer and whiskey recommendations are always welcome.

If you do not drink, tell us what you're bringing to the party. Food. What you cooking? Or do you play with the Devil's lettuce? What's your favorite thing to enjoy?

No cocaine or hookers please.

I don't always drink beer. But when I do:

Pacifico if I'm shooting the breeze on a summer day.

If I'm looking to sip to enjoy, the Belgian whites are my jam.

This is a great one from India.

Good quality that is relatively easy to find: Allagash White

Somewhat less easy to find: Weihenstephaner - Kristal Weissbier

Modelo, Corona are ok; I'll drink them, not a snob. Dos Equis Amber better than both.

Hardywood, a brewery near Richmond Virginia, made a seasonal Blackberry Wheat that was just right.
They didn't let the fruit take over, it's just enough of a hint.

Devils Backbone Premium Lager

Port City OPTIMAL WIT

I could go on.

Welp, that's a new life goal. Find Weihenstephaner. I feel like it should be attainable, which is great.

I don't drink anymore but I loved Tullamore Dew when I used to drink occasionally. The whiskey aficionados probably won't be very enthusiastic about it, but it suited my taste pretty well:

I highly suggest it.

Most places of any size carry Weihenstephaner Weiss beer.

I just ask them to order me a case of the Kristal Weiss. You might be able to get them to order a 4 pack; I think this usually sells in those tall 16.9 oz bottles.

To me, it splits the difference in the best way possible of a Weiss and a Pilsner

Also, everything they do is great. I think they are one of the world's oldest breweries.

I'm really partial to the Kristal Weiss though.

It's on the sweet end, even for white beers, but unlike something like Blue Moon they got the flavor right for this one. Citrusy with a little spice. Very good take on the witbier genre.

Likewise good sir.

Back in the day we used to break out the crown royal on Christmas/Thanksgiving with the fellas after everyone finished their family business. Good times.
