Not buying a $185 hoodie, though. Good lord.

oh wow. Any reason for not going to any games? When I lived in Portland I went to a ton of Blazer games and actually became a casual fan of the team and city.

I edited my post on the hoodie: it's a collab with a premium clothing brand. There are the normal priced apparel as well, but on twitter everyone was talking about the $185 prices lol.

Budget, mostly. And while I appreciate watching great basketball, something I haven’t gotten from MY team in over fifteen years, I don’t take much extra enjoyment from seeing games in person if I’m not invested in the outcome.

Three of the four Warriors games I went to were Pistons road games.

Valkyrie practice facility in downtown Oakland! It's where the Warriors old practice facility was right by the water front. It's a real nice facility, but can be sketchy outside. Obviously they would drive into the secured parking area so it's safe.

I wonder where the players will choose to live. Life's expensive in the bay area. Games in SF and practice in Oakland -- making the players pay the troll toll! Depending on where they live it could be kind of annoying to have practice and game days on different sides of a busy bridge.

Yeah WNBA rookie salaries aren't getting them a bedroom in a share house.

I'm wondering if it's subsidised living?

I wonder that too. I wonder if there is a rent a house system in the NBA/WNBA going on. So many NBA players don't live in their city in the off season that it would make sense to rent it out to a WNBA player. Perfect timing too.

Would be a good league investment to have a property portfolio anyway.
Especially in areas around stadiums that they bring entertainment too and lift the value of. They'd be dumb if this wasn't already happening.

players have the option of team-provided housing or receiving a monthly stipend (varies by city)

is las vegas really the lowest cost city in the league?

wow good information.

So the list that it shows is the stipend amount they would get each month? not bad for them.

What do you think of my Valkyries roster prediction?

until they release the expansion draft rules, roster speculation is pretty much just picking names out of a hat :dontknow:

It's fun to speculate though. The Sparks have 3 other bigs under contract for next season, and there's talk the Lynx would not protect Pili.

I do wonder the teams philosophy in building their team. There are a lot of young players who im sure will be available and can excite fans. I wouldn't care if the Valkyries aren't very good, but have cool players

I would want to look at to build the team to eventually have some of these traits:
- defensive minded: lengthy players at all positions, switchable on defense.
- Shooting. Multiple players at positions can shoot the ball

2024 Expansion watch:
- We don't know the exact rules until AFTER the finals. So just guessing on who will be unprotected.

Fever: Dantas, Fagbenle, Nalyssa, Kristy Wallace

Liberty: Nyara Sabally

Dream:
Haley Jones: She can handle the ball and be an extra ball handler on the roster, she makes smart decisions and is a team player, but I don't see much upside in her offense. Defense she looks average.
- Ezinne Kalu: Don't know much about her except undrafted rookie, but she played real aggressive defense in the 4th quarter today and I liked that for an end of bench player. I want to keep an eye on her in the playoffs.

Sun
Veronica Burton: She would be my #1 target for backup point guard for Valkyrie. She's a good defender and can shoot the ball a little.

Storm:
Mercedes Russell: ? She's a 6'6 big that is pretty mobile and not bad defender. Needs to be paired with an offensive big.

Jerseys officially drop tomorrow! I do want to own one, but will save that money for NBA All-star weekend festivities
