Adrian Wojnarowski Retires From ESPN To Become GM Of St. Bonaventure Basketball

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Sep 18, 2024 2:46 pm

Adrian Wojnarowski has announced he is retiring as a reporter covering the NBA for ESPN and will join St. Bonaventure as general manager of the men's basketball program.

Wojnarowski left Yahoo to join ESPN in 2017 and was one of the two main newsbreakers in NBA media.

Will miss seeing his NBA updates but looks like it is Shams time to shine.

I can wait an extra three minutes for the story to break.

the NBA lost their best pr guy, they never had to pay him, worked around the clock and got paid by ESPN while posting on Twitter/X. World wide leader right there.

Sources tell the Athletic that Wojnarowski spoke with Pitaro and Burke Magnus about his decision and that the ESPN executives were surprised by the move.

Woj delivering a final Woj bomb. Going to miss him for sure. Trade deadlines and off-seasons will never be the same.

He's only 55. Would be amazing to see him become an NBA GM in 5 to 10 years.

The stories will get out either way. Teams and agents put out the stories they want to put out. With Woj gone, they will just "leak" to the next contact on their list. I will miss his writing, but the news cycle won't slow a nanosecond.
