Is he dad going to retroactively retire from the NBA too? Pretty impressive even for an X-man

I wasn't even thinking of that but obviously should have. I just meant to fully emulate Al in that Tito was a former NBA player.

One of the players I'm most excited to see this season.

Above tweet also applies to Jrue Holiday, btw.

As it turns out, he had offseason procedure done on his knee. So maybe he's not yet fully recovered.

X-Man! Seems like a great dad.

I hope the team brings him along nice and easy, maybe give some minutes to Queta and Kornet (his wrist is good) early in the season.

TIllman was fine with mobility for perimeter defense, with some Shades of Al moments. But he didn't have much lift around the basket. Very ground bound. Maybe he was protecting the knee.

I expect with a healthy Tillman we'll see a bit more flash from him. He's still just 25.

If he comes in without even a hint of improvement, I think he's got a chance to be a good, quality minutes eater in the regular season and someone who wouldn't be in a primary playoff rotation in an ideal world, but also someone where you don't shudder at the thought of having to play.

If he shows moderate improvement/consistency in his shooting, then IMO he's got a real chance to become a core bench player that you pencil into playoff minutes down the line (even if maybe not on this team because we're blessed to have Porzingis and Horford, if healthy).

Brad sure knows how to pick 'em. If you don't know already, he's an elite team-builder. I'm confident that even once new ownership hands down a no-more-green-light-for-you-buddy mandate, he will still find a way to maintain a contender (well, as long as Tatum is on the team and is healthy).

He was already a valuable playoff rotation player for 2 years in Memphis. And gave us some valuable postseason mins last season.

Anytime he's on the floor, he'll be out there with 4 guys who can all shoot. So him being a shooter is not a necessity. You don't *need* all 5 guys on the floor to be shooters. At least 4 of them being decent shooters is ideal.

If he makes a shooting leap, then great. That's just gravy, imo.

And regardless of his shooting, he might not be in the 8 man playoff rotation since he's (at best) the 9th man on this team, when we have everyone healthy.

It's his shooting, but his passing too, which already looked good last season.

I hope Joe is confident enough in Tillman to go 9 deep in the playoffs. Of course, a lot can happen with health, etc, between now and then, but Tillman brought a nice dimension to the team and it looks like he'll be able to slot in for Horford more when needed. In the playoffs with no back-to-backs that's not such an issue, but X could be the first of the stay ready crew off the bench.

In the regular season, when Porzingis comes back and starts out off the bench, a lineup of say, Tillman, Porzingis, Hauser, Walker?, and Pritchard is not too shabby at all for a 5 man bench squad. Xman's interior defense, rebounding and passing out to shooters compliments that squad quite nicely.

I want a second unit lineup of Holiday-Hauser-Tatum-Tillman-Horford. Gonna destroy opposing second units.
