Worst #1 pick all-time?

I just started following the NFL the last few years and I'm not a Panthers fan, but I don't know if Ive ever seen a bigger train wreck in any sport that Ive followed than this Panthers organization right now. They somehow seems significantly worse than the Hornets organization has ever been. Its just sad.

last season felt worse than 7-59. this year has a very large possibility of being worse than that though I feel more comfortable with Dalton running things for a few weeks before we try to redeploy Bryce

The best parallel between 7-59 and the Panthers was that Clausen season in 2010. Moore went down early and the team just had no chance. Yeah Clausen sucked but at least we had our pick the next year.

Difference is the Panthers got Cam and Hornets got MKG. But as bad as it was it didn’t feel truly hopeless just a bad team in transition forced to play out a season.

This feels different, empty, hopeless, 5+ years until we see a winning season level bad.

It can be turned around if we get a good QB. Look at Houston with Stroud.

Having a good/top QB solves 90% of your issues in the NFL.

That said. I hope Dalton doesn't take us on a winning streak.

Darnold and Baker have both been great this year. We're literally cursed.

That's exactly what I'd do if I were GM. The Panthers are talent poor and this is not an incredible QB class by any stretch of the imagination. Trade back, collect an extra 1st in 2026, and then see what happens with the Arch Manning sweepstakes. It's a smart move regardless of Manning, but I think having that potentially next great QB in the 26' draft makes it doubly attractive.

Give Canales at least the next two seasons and hope he can shift the culture through continuity, something that has been sorely lacking in Carolina since 2019.

That's the smart move. But with Tepper, I don't trust we'll make the smart moves.

His constant meddling and impatience is the main reason we're the worst team in the league since he's become owner.

can you imagine bryce trying to throw it deep to tyreke? go deep tyreke - bryce drops back, throws with all his strength, throws it 17 yards landing 20 yards behind tyreke.

i don't think this is completely giving up. i assume we bring him back in like November or December if our season is toast, and we've actually seen what our offense looks like with a stopgap.
