MLB Will Have New Champion For 24th Straight Year

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Sep 23, 2024 12:18 pm

The Texas Rangers were eliminated from playoff contention last week, which means Major League Baseball will have a new champion for the 24th straight year.

We haven\'t seen a back-to-back World Series winner since the New York Yankees did so three straight years from 1998-2000.

Not only is it the longest MLB streak without a repeat champ, but it\'s the longest streak in major North American professional sports.

Since the last repeat championship in Major League Baseball, we\'ve seen 16 different franchises win the World Series.

I would love to say this is the perfect example of parity, but when you have franchises like the White Sox, Athletics, Marlins, etc...it does not seem accurate.
