Brewers/Pirates Series

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Sep 22, 2024 10:19 pm

Tuesday - 5:40 - TBA vs. Falter
Wednesday - 5:40 - Peralta vs. Ortiz
Thursday - 11:35 - Rea vs. Keller
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's hard to just play out the string
And get up when games don't mean a thing
Murph says step on the gas
If you play now like ass
You'll end up with no chance at a ring

I dont know what the right answer is. Play it out and someone gets hurt, gonna be second guessed. Rest guys and go into playoffs with no momentum/rusty, will be second guessed.

Who do you guys think are going to pitch games 1 and 2 next week? Peralta and Myers? Montas for a game 3? Rea? Ashby/Hall as openers?

I know he hasn’t maybe been quite the dominant starter we hoped, but think Peralta has to be 1 of the 2 games. Myers, Civale would be my other picks for a 3 game series, prediction picks. Rea feel has been touched up a bit more recently. Montas think may be a mid inning option in the playoffs.

It will be interesting. Everyone has done their job, but also its not a clear cut no brainer.

I could see Peralta in game 1 and Myers in game 2. Game 3 maybe Civale with Ashby ready to come in after him and all hands on deck. Man it sure would be nice to just win the first 2 games and move on.

Don't care much about this series, but I want to beat the Mets if it means keeping them in the 6-seed. No interest in facing the D-Backs again. None.

I know that they'll prioritize resting pitchers over considerations like that, but that's of debatable value because you want to keep everyone sharp too. Whoever starts game 1 against the Mets would have 4 days rest by game 2 of the first round.

Dick move, but he was also batting .116 with a 38 wRC+ in September.

I know it's hardly the first time someone has dodged an incentive or vesting option or whatever but you have to do it before the guy is 4 plate appearances away.

Freddy's last start before game 1. Hope he's sharp. He's been pretty good his last 2 outings. Civale is pitching tomorrow. If he's game 2 he would have 5 days rest. Friday's start hasn't been announced but whoever that is would have 4 days rest if pitching game 2. A bullpen game for game 2 is risky if there's a game 3. But if you're down 0-1 you do whatever.

Feels like this is probably going to be the playoff lineup against RHP? Although I will again need it explained to me why Bauers is ever DH'ing over Hoskins.

Freddy has done this a lot this season. Been mostly fine then not been able to finish it off.
