One guy whose quietly had a really bad start to the season is Kenny Clark. He's been a bottom 5 defender all 3 games by PFF and the eye test doesn't indicate otherwise imo
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

We may not know how good this team is yet, but we do know that Lafleur can coach up his players, the defense can get pressure and create turnovers, and the offense has shot itself in the foot a bunch and still puts up 27+ without their franchise QB.

The team is still young and i expect those penalties to stop with more experience. I haven't been this bullish on this team in a LONG time. They are deep and talented AF.

Truth. Even the defense. Last couple of years they gave up a lot of yards and points to teams like Carolina who were getting smoked by everyone else. We now have at least an average defense that can beat up on bad offenses.

The question is will they be able to hold their own versus top talent like Minnesota, Detroit, Houston? If that holds up then I will have more confidence in this defense come playoff time.

I don't think the titans offense is very good, but it's still important to shut them down, just like they did with the colts. We didn't take care of business on that end all too often with Barry (see Bryce Young).

I'm throwing that Brazil game out, because the Eagles have looked pretty bad since.

The tracking on Coop is so much better than what I thought he'd have coming into the league. No disrespect to Quay, who has been fine this season and not as bad as people make him out to be, could never diagnose and re-route a gap the way Edgerrin has done the last two games. Very encouraging stuff.

The big difference with the defense is they force turnovers. They couldn't do that last year.

Amazing game by Willis. Love that guy. What a weapon as your #2 QB.

But it does make me wonder what TT/Gutey were doing from 2012 to 2022 on the GM front. They gave Rodgers pretty much nothing, but now Gutey has brought in a lot of talent the past two years.

They were doing fine (the 2014 and 2019-2021 teams in particular were loaded with talent) outside of the 2015-2018 stretch where Thompson clearly was in mental decline and McCarthy had far outlived his expiration date. Don't know how people can watch these last 20+ games now and determine that the problems in 2019 and 2022 was Rodgers having a bare cupboard to work with. MLF out here dunking on all the dumb criticisms about him as a play-caller and offensive guru. You just need guys putting aside their egos and buying into the system.

I know I’m looking at this through green and gold colored glasses. But these calls aren’t the same for both teams and it’s been every week so far. Sometimes I think it’s to keep the game close so people keep watching or the betting money and nfl interests favor the other team. So the calls do too.

Kenny hasn't looked great. I don't know if adjusting to the 4-3 has made things difficult for him or what.

If people were following along from the start, they'd realize this argument about the defense being good began w/ Ronnie emphatically asserting it using the supposed quality of the Colts' offense led by Richardson whose own fan base even thinks he sucks. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Wasn't 1 going out of my way post w to diminish it.

And as a broader discussion, when prompted, I'd only contend this d is unproven due to the opposition. Context, like SOS, always matters. Just cuz you punk bad teams/units, doesn't mean you can match good 1's. We've seen it in a zillion times in sports. You also can only beat who you play. The aggression is fun, & when used at the right times, could improve the outlook. Good qb's, unlike Levis & Richardson, could also make you pay. Levis was dead last against the blitz. Our next opponent #1. Big test.

I'll never trust this D until they don't rip my heart out in the playoffs, I've been fooled by good D runs before.

But I will note I don't hold week one against them, dudes were falling down all over the place. So to me it's 2 good D performances against O's they should be good against. Hope they keep it up.
