Glad he's not in Paris. TCB in LA.

It’s a business governed by politics. Kawhi will be playing with a chip on his shoulder this year. Not a bad thing but it does suck what they did to him.

As pessimistic as I've been about the last few years, the Trout era has been objectively worse than the Kawhi era. Trout's been a regular player for the Angels for 12 years and they've accomplished nothing at all whether he's healthy or not. One playoff appearance a decade ago and they got swept. His injury problems didn't start until they had already wasted several years of his career.

Looks like you're actually cutting Kawhi some slack here and I disagree. Kawhi has been a no show for us when it's mattered the most and that is the playoffs.

I'd say he's talking more about each team's overall success. A star baseball player is not as impactful as a star basketball player, but the Angels did have two of the best and most unique stars in baseball and accomplished much less than the Clippers did even with gimped Kawhi. They also had the peak years of Trout, whereas Clippers got Kawhi just as hit injuries started to hit.

Trout had nine consecutive years where he averaged playing in 90% of the Halos’ games. Kawhi has had *one* season in his entire career where he’s played 90% of his team’s games. Like madmax said, Trout’s impact is less significant because of the sport he plays in… but, yeah, he’s been around a hell of a lot more than Kawhi.

Trout isn’t like Kawhi; my concern is that he’ll end up like Pujols. All-time great for a decade, injury riddled and declining on a long slide after that.

not really a baseball guy but trout's career has made me kinda sad. best baseball player i have ever seen in my life who somehow never found the team success that a guy of his greatness would ideally have.

Is there a lot of overlap between Clippers and Angels fans?

I think thought Angels were far away for LA fans to adopt them?

I'm more of a Dodger fan- but I don't like the way the fans treat Clipper players that attend the games.

I want the Angels to do well- I think you can cheer for both as they aren't really rivals because they play in different leagues

Shohei escaped ‘prison’ and look at him now, walk off grand slam for 1st place Dodgers to join to 40/40 club. Imagine how it will be when he actually starts pitching again.

Clearly something seriously wrong with his knee. Not sure why both Kawhi and Clippers try to keep this so secretive EVERYONE knows and expects this.

No idea when they were told. Could have been yesterday, could have been months ago while they were ramping up season ticket sales for the BallmerDome.

But why did he try to play for Team USA and now can't even play preseason? Here we go again. :nonono:

None of it makes any sense but I wish the US government were half as good at keeping secrets.

IIRC, there was talk even during the season he was holding out with the Spurs that he may have a chronic condition which will affect him the rest of his career.

Obviously winning the ring with the Raptors probably made teams want to sign him -- he was still under 30 at the time.

But you'd think the Clippers did due diligence or had him examined by their specialists? Or did they want him so bad that they weren't going to sign him with some conditions?

I guess if you give a full max contract, there wouldn't be any conditions.

He's shown glimpses of still being a top 5 player in the league, just hasn't been able to stay on the court long enough and then he sustained more injuries since coming to the Clippers.

I’ve never seen a GM speak out both sides of his mouth as much as Frank does when it comes to Leonard.

And clowns thought is a was Nike thing for Team USA to send Kawhi home. Nah, that man was straight up injured and questionable to start the season. When he was done in the playoffs against Dallas, in the back of my mind I was wondering "here we go again". Joe Ingles Part II.

Well, its an excellent opportunity for a few players. Who's wants it? Zu, KPJ, Mann, Jordan Miller, Bones?

Should've moved on from him. Like another poster said in the general board, Why does the team baby and cater to him as if we're a small market team? PG with all the team suggestions like Wall over Hartenstein and the likes? Enough already! Put the big boy pants on and run this team like its supposed to be ran in a major market. There should be no reason to cater to him anymore now that 213 is over with. You f*cking had SGA, all of our picks, and open cap space at one point, and now this? SMH
