Butler making it was well deserved. So was Jerry Kramer. He was always excluded IMO because the Lombardi team had so many HOF and the voters felt it was enough. 10 who played under Lombardi made it before Kramer finally did. And if you ever have a chance to go to the Packers HOF do it. It's great. Combine it with a Lambeau tour (also great).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Interesting discussion. What would it take for you to trade away MLF?

This makes perfect sense imo. Looking at this play I highly doubt the Eagles coaches have this as a mark against Lane Johnson. If this was Zach Tom or Rasheed Walker I wouldn't mark it against them. If the mark is against anybody it should be the center for snapping it prematurely and leaving the rest of his OL out of position

Nah, I agree with them. PFF ratings are not an official league statistic. They're just a bunch of nerds trying to measure how players perform. They can rely on whatever data they see as relevant. And that sack by Gary was definitely not a reflection on Lane Johnson.

Guys, I'd agree with you if Lane Johnson wasn't the only one who didn't move.

All four guys to the left of him, the slot, and both WRs are already moving while Johnson is still sitting in his stance. He was late.

Show the entire play, not just a screenshot. You can the center clearly snaps the ball before any of the OL is ready. The RG is still pointing out pressure pickups while the ball is snapped

Where do you think I got the screen grab? Again, he's the the last one to move.

I know you hate PFF, but this is pretty clear to me that this sack should be given the center. When 4 of the 5 OL are late to the play that's telling regardless of if Lane Johnson was technically last.

I don't hate PFF at all. I use it often. I just view them with more of a side-eye lately after finding out about the attrition that's gone on over there in the last six months. That company is a complete tire-fire right now.

I mean they came out and legitimately explained the reasoning behind what they decided on this play. I was with everyone who criticized them for not counting a pressure on Lane Johnson originally, but their reasoning actually makes sense given the context imo. Transparency is a good thing.

I get the intent but completely absolving Johnson for any responsibility on that play is also dumb analysis. Whistle didn't blow and dude nearly got his QB killed. Or does PFF also absolve blown zone coverages and guys slipping on the turf? Cuz you know, it's "probably someone else's fault"....

I agree. This is a very slippery slope for them. If almost, and could have, should have because of xyz so… we judged it this way instead of what actually happened and the way the play was called on the field.
Gary was his responsibility on the play. One of the other defenders could have gotten the sack or pressure instead but they didn’t. There was no whistle and he was late getting out of his stance and blocking his man. That’s on him at least partially. You just can’t say he’s not at fault at all and the play didn’t happen. Because it clearly did and it forced a punt.

I'm curious how you guys think the Eagles coaches would have graded this play? Because to me I think the Eagles coaches would have largely given the blame to the center and have mainly absolved Johnson's responsibility given the context. But maybe I'm in the minority.
I bring this up because I know alot of times coaches grade things in a different manner than what us as fans see or think(ex. The Packers considering Josh Myers good last season)

It's less this specific play and more "why are you not applying this to other scenarios" like the ones I just outlined? O-lineman's lack of field awareness causes him to get beat = O-lineman should be penalized for giving up a pressure. Seems like it should be pretty simple to me.
FWIW, I don't think it'd be a big deal if PFF wasn't so openly bragging on their own website that NFL front offices and agents are sourcing their data for the purpose of contract negotiations lol:
So yeah, this stuff absolutely matters to players' earning potential, and if these analytics companies wanna get more and more involved with the NFL on the business side, the more scrutiny they should be getting.

When it comes to contract negotiations, PFF plays an even bigger role - ensuring that agents are armed with the data to ensure their clients get comp they deserve. Agents representing coaches and GMs also use PFF’s agency solutions to gain an edge.

From my understanding every NFL team and a bunch of college teams work with PFF to get information and it's not always information that is publicly available. I doubt NFL teams just look at pff grades without further context and if they do they are idiots.

Who has got more potential Malik Willis or Jordan Love? I would have thought it would have easily been Love not that long ago, but my God can Willis run, and he's not a bad passer either. At a minimum Love should donate some of his salary to Willis. He's earned it for salvaging the Packer's season.

I’d say it’s easily still Love. Mostly on his ability to read defenses. Which is still Willis’s biggest weakness. That’s huge reason for Love being able to play this week against the makes a difference compared to the last couple weeks. The Vikes run a different and complex scheme. It confused Love in the first meeting last year even. So Willis could be exposed against them.
Tom Clements works magic thou! He’s such an amazing QB coach. Willis can improve a lot under him.
