Cle / Hou / Phx
Cavaliers receive: Tari Eason and Ryan Dunn
Rockets receive: Kevin Durant and Grayson Allen
Suns receive: Fred VanVleet, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, Jaylon Tyson and '31 unprotected first via Cavs
Why?
Cleveland needs some size at the wing. Eason and Dunn are great prospects.
Houston goes for a superstar and it doesn't really cost them that much.
Phoenix turns Durant into VanVleet and younger players with star potential and a first.
After this transaction, Cavs dump Jerome. They either waive him or dump him on another team.
Sign George Conditt IV.
PG: Darius Garland / Craig Porter Jr.
SG: Donovan Mitchell / Max Strus / Sam Merrill
SF: Tari Eason / Caris LeVert / Ryan Dunn / Isaac Okoro
PF: Evan Mobley / Dean Wade / Georges Niang
C: Jarrett Allen / George Conditt IV / Tristan Thompson
Coach: Kenny Atkinson

Re: Cle / Hou / Phx
While Cleveland did get Allen in a deal similar to this one, this does feel like Cleveland stealing Eason out of an unlikely KD trade.

Re: Cle / Hou / Phx
There's not much direction for Hou here
3 young guys in Green, Eason, Smith, and then our best vet in FVV. What are we trying to do win or stick with the young guys?
For PHX, they send out a key guy without receiving any of their 1st back from Hou. They are retaining Booker, so theoretically still trying to win, but sending out a useful young player in Eason for a far-away first.

I don't think we are interested in Durant, especially at this price. If we were, would just send back a Phoenix pick, keep Eason, and cut out Cleveland.
I think the Rockets want to keep most of the young guys, and use the pick stash they have to trade for an impact player.

Cleveland has no place in this deal, should be straight PHX/HOU.

Somehow I think the offer of a single first for Durant gets outbid.

In theory FVV, Green, Smith, and Tyson have value. FVV might be neutral at his salary and not all teams will want Green at his contract expectations (particularly Phoenix with Booker and Beal already at the 2), but Smith is probably worth at least two 1sts and Tyson is worth one.

If you're cutting out the Cavs, Tyson is out. I suspect Green has minimal value at this point. Smith is a legitimate asset, and fills a need, but FVV would have to go somewhere other than Phoenix.
The reality is that the Cavs shouldn't trade for another offensively challenged wing after signing Okoro, unless Okoro is going out in the same transaction. Frankly, trading for Eason probably means having to trade Allen (or Mobley). I like Eason, but if the Cavs conclude that they have to break up their core, it shouldn't be because they overpaid for a guy like Eason who has to show he can start during the regular season.

Re: Cle / Hou / Phx
If phx decides to rebuild, then they might as well ship both Durant and Booker. Neither are being moved if they are trying to win now.
I like something around:
HOU gets Booker for Phx picks, Vleet and two prospects (Amen, Eason)
NO gets Durant for picks, prospects (Hawkins, Herb, other) and expiring Ingram.
ORL gets Vleet for salary (one of KCP, MWagner, Isaac, Carter) and prospects (Black, Jett). Might even get a pick for those two guys.
PHX gets prospects (2 from hou, 2 from ORL, Hawkins, Herb), picks and mainly expiring money.
Houston pays a high price for Booker but gets a stud in his prime and still has young pieces around him (Shepp/Booker/Brooks/Jabari/Sengun with Whitmore and JaG).
NO gets a stud big man - even if old. Plus, KD might get Zion in the right state of mind.
ORL gets a veteran pg to stabilize what they have on the cheap.
PHX resets. I think they only consider this if they are not good by Jan 1.

Whoa, I was just commenting that a package of three of Houston's young guys is more than "a single first". Particularly if you're Phoenix and have no incentive to be bad while waiting for draft picks to turn into productive players when you can simply add three productive NBA players right away.

Re: Cle / Hou / Phx
Doesn't really make any sense for either Houston or Phoenix, I get that a lot of teams that need a wing think Houston don't see what they see in Tari Eason, but everything locally suggest they're higher on him than just about anyone else. (they're big into analytics as a FO and Eason is off the charts in terms of impact there. )
Houston is basically set up for this trade in case Phoenix blows up and need to rebuild.
Green + Brooks+ the Phoenix picks for Booker
That's the deal they're looking for, obviously this is contingent on a lot of things like Phoenix imploding, (and Green doesn't hit a level comparable to Booker.)
short of that, they're interested to let this play out for a year or two and see where their rookie scale guys end up around.
For Tari (and Jabari) next season is probably more of an inflection point than this one, typically guys like that don't get rookie maxed especially on better teams, whether they agree to more managable extensions will go a long way in how Houston approach things later on.

Re: Cle / Hou / Phx
I don't see the point for phoenix.
They get Green who plays the same position and as Booker and Beal.
And get Van Fleet who plays the same position as Tyus Jones and Monte Morris.
These are redundant acquisitions and it's going to be impossible to play all those guys. No actual needs are being addressed with the bulk of the incoming salary.
So basically the Suns replace KD and Grayson Allen with Jabari Smith, Jaylon Tyson and '31 pick.
The Suns would still have most expensive roster in the league but will be worse and less balanced.
