As bad as Cabrera's defense was, he still is one of the BEST offensive players in this game. Given the numbers he puts up, a few errors here and there are not a big deal. -- Many need to stop blowing this out of proportion when it comes to Cabrera.
A-Rod & Cabrera through their first 720 games (per ESPN)
Matt Dominguez might be a special talent, but Cabrera IS one of the BEST currently.

Jacobs has tremendously dissapointed since he got here. He came in with high praise/marks, yet has only digressed to some degree.OAKTREE NYK1 wrote:The key to the offense this year is the health of Hermida and Jacobs. If they can stay healthy this team is better then last year's squad.
Yes, he does put up some what good numbers, but not what was 'said' he could do.....

We all know that Cabrera is one of the best in the game. Being what the teams situation is there is no way we could afford him. Sucks that we left him go but I am more then happy with the deal that was made once again being in the situation that the team is in. Miguel will be seeing Manny type money real soon.

As far as pitching goes. I really think the Lins need to go out and get themselves a veteran pitcher for that rotation. With the current savings there shouldnt be any excuse why they cant go out and make a decent offer for one.

Give this new guy Rabelo a chance. I was looking at some game stats from last year and he looks to be a decent hitter. Dont know about his game calling but he is worth a shot atleast to compete for the job. As for starting pitching. Wondering who can we get for a decent price or a reclamation project.

Livan Hernandez would be so ideal. He is the innings eater that the team needs. He also always does well going against a teams number 1 for some reason. I think he would be a great fit if the Mets dont beat us to him first.

This franchise pulls in around $60M each season, yet only spends half of that on the team.
This franchise makes bundles of money. It turns a wonderful profit. Take out the calculator and add up what they got last year:
$30 million. That's in revenue sharing.
$12 million. That's an estimated local TV deal, according to a source.
$18 million. That's from the national TV deal.
