I gotta believe we are trading Rudy as well. Randle and Rudy cannot play together effectively. Looks like ownership wasn’t willing to pay for a contender after all. Fuc******************************k

If you are trading Rudy, we got Capela, Nance and a SAC 1st for ya from Atlanta.

Honestly I think Randle is the backup 5 right now. Second unit is going to RUN.

Expensive backup whose ego won’t be able to handle it. Plus, Randle isn’t a 5. That is out of position garbage when Finch likes to play big. Terrible fit.

Is there any aspect of the game that Randle is better at than Towns?

And I don’t see Randle, in a contract year, being very committed to developing Ant.

This HAS to be a joke.

This deal is literal waste management. Pray they don't find a third team to "make it work".

We were a few games from the Finals. Why blow it up for Randle and a pick that likely won't come due for years?

There is one. Creating locker room drama. Things were too good off the court so TC decided we needed more national attention with more dysfunction and another trash trade of top talent by a dysfunctional FO. Now I hate TC.

probably passing, I remember Randle being crazy high on generating 3pters for teammates

maybe "getting a bucket" in half court

idk

maybe long term this is an endorsement of Naz, and Randle is simply an easier salary slot to maneuver than KAT

I also thought the continuity of bringing back our top 7 would give us a head start this season in the championship chase ..! :banghead:

They don't want to pay the LT in 2026

That’s how I see this move too. They expect Randle to not pick up his $30 mil player option, and we let him walk for nothing. Then we have DiVincenzo’s good contract the next two years, and hope eventually the DET pick conveys, while we use the savings to bring back Naz. I agree with winforlose, that this likely means NAW will be gone too.

I would call him less clumsy. I think KAT's physical awkwardness always held him back, especially at C.

That's honestly the biggest thing I dislike about this trade. That and the overall feeling of moving Towns.

Overall though, I think for the longterm health of the franchise, this was a win.

Until three years ago, I would have said at least Randle is a better defender. But over the last three years, I think Towns has shown himself to be superior, even at PF, despite his clown shoes.

Randle is certainly a worse offensive player, and we needed Towns to shoot lots of three’s. Randle’s 31% 3P is just going to further clog the paint for Ant’s drives.

The Detroit 1st isn't a significant asset because its likely going to end up as a 2nd round pick. Donte has had 1 good season so I'm not sure how he's been coveted for a long time. And Randle is such a bad floor spacer that there is no chance him and Gobert can co-exist.

Cause Randy can do this that Kat cannot. Will this make Ant happy?

Didn't Randle have a Trade Kicker? Is he waiving that?
