cause now that this trade is complete u know that "random" rumor that coincidentally popped up 2 days ago was also very very real.

Ian clarify this was something from the past and not this Summer. Knicks were monitoring the situation before the signed that extension.

The problem is tying up all that money to a loser

KAT sucks.

He is dumb, sucks at d, and is mentally fragile.

The Knicks are a apron team...money doesn't matter in theory you want guys with larger contracts.

10000%

Clear as day to me.

Things got weird with the Captain press conference and the fact Randle never extended in the summer when.

He still thought he was either top dog or co-top dog.

He’s at best a 3rd option, easy solution, ship him out.

No one is gonna miss him standing at the 3 point line pouting because he isn’t getting the ball then walking back on defense. No one is gonna miss his awful dribble isolation sets where he shoots a terrible contested step back.

I won't miss him either, never liked his attitude but I will appreciate what he has done for the knicks. He did take discounted contracts when no one wanted to come here. The minute that there was no extension the last few weeks (if he had signed, coudln't be traded during deadline)... it was writing in the wall.

Randle's contract was a double edge sword. His contract is great for our cap space because that's an undervalule contract. But the moment you want to trade him, you could never get equal value for him with 1 for 1 trade. I never thought the Knicks would trade him for a few role players, our depth was already crazy. I figured it might be Randle and Mitch for whoever.

Anyways, KAT is a 3 fcking level scorer. He can score anywhere on the court. If both players were albatross on defense, may as well get a rare big man that can score on 3 levels.

To my surprise KAT did a great job versus Jokic in the playoff...so there's that.

Randle was never going to harmoniously give up touches in his contract year if he felt he wasn't going to stay with the Knicks. it would've been a bad vibes situation

This is a BS narrative, Randle was fitting in seamleassly and even admitted as much publicly, stop the cap
randle could be an awkward fit and no I was not ready to pay randle max ….KAT has size and will not ruffle feather is dominant offensively but be deferential …his defense really shined this playoffs

No he wasn’t.

Someone who plays like a robin isn’t still going to dribble the life out the ball, not move off ball or be a black hole on offense. He did all of those things while we went on that winning streak in earlier in the year. You stop the cap.

BULLSH*T!

Randle adjusted and was an improved facilitator, rebounder and low post threat which completed the team during the winning streak and our record is proof of that.

This is an outdated narrative meant to justify this garbage move

Of course... Theo Pinson was on his podcast that said everyone had to play defense except for Randle. I think this will be the case but with a player that has a TS of 63%!!!
