Been saying it for two years that it was always going to happen
It really was. What’s wild is how agitated some got on here even though it was so plain to see.

Hmmm… maybe Randle and Mitch Robinson being routed to Charlotte with Miles Bridges going to Minny and Richard’s coming to NY… maybe. Maybe.

Are you surprised? This trade has been laid out right here for months.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rose and Thibs read this board.

Re: Breaking: KAT to the Knicks
The most dominant offensive stretches of KAT's career were with him playing Center in a 5 out offense. Switching to the 4 to accommodate Gobert hurt his game a lot. I'm telling y'all he's gonna look gooooood in a Knicks uni.
He's made some nice strides defensively these past 3-4 years as well (2019-20 KAT was awful on D).

KAT played Jokic well but all of his flaws were on show against Dallas again. This can easily backfire imo
KAT literally shot his team out a championship because all he wanted to do was shoot 3 pointers.
New environment, reboot with the coaches, playing next to Brunson and two of the best defensive wings in the league will see him getting touches on the move and in the paint, not just the perimeter
KAT had great wing defenders in Edwards and McDaniels, along with Conley and Gogurt. So, he had the guys around him to excel on defense in MInny and if he didn't, it's on him.
Just pointing that out. I think it'll be ok here. I wish the Knicks kept Donte, but it wasn't to be. Bench would have been much better.

Did we really need to trade for KAT after a successful year like how we traded for Bargnani after a successful year in 2013? Hopefully this time around it’s different..
I think the point is they wanted to extend this potential run for 3-4 years and not just this year. Randle's contract situation was obviously more real then we were being let on. That is clear.
KAT's contract allows us to maintain that stability for years to come.
Randle is better with the ball in his hands...but KAT is far better without it. So I think they are really buying into putting other teams in a bind if they have to cover Brunson...but have KAT shooting with Mikal and OG in the corner...it will be a really tough matchup for teams. Thibs gotta get him back to a decent level defender.
I see the upside, but it’s hard to not see how similar this is to us acquiring Bargnani too. Bargnani was supposed to be that floor spacing big.. that also played no defense and goes away to what made us a special defensive team in 2013. Kinda feels the same with KAT. But I hope I’m wrong.
You’re equating acquiring Bargnani with acquiring KAT and expect to be taken seriously? Oh right. They’re both floor spacing bigs. Similar stat wise too, right? Ridiculous. Bargnani. What a joke.
