Breaking: KAT to the Knicks

Love so much of KAT's game - elite level scoring efficiency and one of the best shooting bigs in the history of the league - but I am not looking forward to his general corniness . From his fake tough guy snarling to the voice stuff, the dude is a straight up cornball that happens to be really, really good at basketball.

Minnesota beat guys talking about him being outstanding in the community, so that's a nice balm, I guess.

We have to root for the Big Purrr

I mean we already have Jalen/Josh/Mikal, so might as well go full bore.

Now that I think of it, the Shamet and Payne signings were a huge tell that something was up with Donte. I will miss the guy, it was fun to finally root for him on an NBA team. Delaware Jordan will do well in Minnesota.

So i was thinking that KAT would play the 5 here but the general consensus is that he's playing the 4.

So

Precious/Karl/OG/Mikal/Brunson with Josh and Deuce as the main rotation? Sims backs up Precious and we'll probably end games with Hart on the floor.

Interesting to see how Thibs will handle this. Hopefully someone can step up off the bench so we can at least run an 8 to 9 man rotation in the regular season.

This is a bad trade. KAT averages 53 games per season the past 5 years, and that is with the 2 covid shortened seasons being taken into account. All Randle's flaws (ball stopper, chemistry killer, bad D) are KAT's flaws as well. The things that KAT is better at does not warrant an average of 55 millions a year for 4 more years.

And on top of all this, Donte is traded away. That one is going to sting.

I'm shocked you don't like the trade. Shocked, I tell you.

It is expensive, but this is the cost of trying to win. I think this is a championship level roster. Brunson, KAT, OG, Mikal is a solid core

The world is against us. we've established we know KAT sucks so when he fcks the knicks in the playoffs we can take some comfort in the rest of the boards misery. Which is honestly one of the best parts of being a knicks fan.

Knicks were in a window and did pretty good with the $ and ages of the players. Now, it might not be perfect and it might not be a true championship team, but it's a really good team.

Yeah I think the gap is closed. Boston is the team to beat obviously but I love the match ups with OG and Mikal versus Tatum and Brown.

I feel like anyone saying KAT is a poor defender or doesn't bring it in the playoffs has to add the caveat you can say most of the same stuff about Randle

The main frustration I had with Randle was that he hasn't really tried for years, since the 2021 season on defense. And that was the main frustration because he showed that year he could do it, but just never did afterwards

So if you're saying we traded a Randle that averages 34% from the field, 24% from 3 in the playoffs for a guy with the same complaints that shoots 47% from the field, 35% from 3 in the playoffs in his career, I mean I'll take that, that's just straight up an upgrade at worst.
