I'm still not super confident OG and Josh should be matched up on a nightly basis against power forwards. I wonder if the Knicks are eyeing a Robinson trade. Man, I-Hart and Robinson really took a **** on our roster with leaving town and getting injured.

Yeah I think offensively there's gonna be one non shooter on the floor most of the time but I expect end games scenarios where Hart is the guy who finishes games, with KAT playing 5.

It's not so bad tbh. Karl spacing the floor means that Brunson will be able to run wild in the paint and mid range

So i was thinking that KAT would play the 5 here but the general consensus is that he's playing the 4.

So

Precious/Karl/OG/Mikal/Brunson with Josh and Deuce as the main rotation? Sims backs up Precious and we'll probably end games with Hart on the floor.

Interesting to see how Thibs will handle this. Hopefully someone can step up off the bench so we can at least run an 8 to 9 man rotation in the regular season.

Awful trade.

I get why it was done (better lineup against Boston) but I don't like it. Randle is better than KAT and DVo is our best shooter.

And KAT is hella soft. He's going to frustrate us a lot with his meak personality and shyness for physical play. He was better at this last season but playing in NYC with this media and these fans is way more challenging. He is from here and he somewhat grew up in a NYK household that watched the 90s so he knows what is expected. There is also his relationship with Thibs. KAT is older and more mature now, so his Thibs, so hopefully they find a common ground.

Sad to see Randle go. He was a pillar here and should be remembered in a positive light. He came here when KD and Kyrie were too scared too. He made All-Star teams and helped lead this franchise to the playoffs at a time where it seemed impossible. There were bad and frustrating moments but overall, Randle was a good Knick. And such a great role model as a father and family man. I will miss him.

DVo wasn't here long but he gave us one of the iconic moments in NYK history against Philly. He broke the 3pt record too. He will be missed. Fun player to watch and root for.

Randle was playing so well last season, not liking this move. KAT takes terrible shots and is targeted on Defense.

KAT has nearly a career 63% TS percentage. You may think his shot selection isn't good but he is one of the most EFF +20 pt scorers in the entire NBA.

Not saying he is without faults but the difference of Randles to KAT efficiency is like going from like De'Aaron Fox to Steph Curry.

There's a lot of visceral reaction in here that doesn't incorporate just how good KAT is at basketball. He's an historically efficient scorer as a big man star. Randle isn't just not has good as him, he's even trended into the opposite end of the spectrum of bad big man scoring efficiency. It's a truly significant, massive production upgrade; like not just swapping one piece for another that's slightly different and maybe better.

There's always the chance it doesn't work for all the reasons that make people dislike KAT, but the actual basketball production isn't even remotely one of them.

I am fine either way. Sims i am uncertain about at C and Precious is good but undersized. However I do see the merits of playing Karl at PF.

This team has loaded up and is deep at almost every position now. They can play multiple styles offensively AND defensively. They can shoot the 3 ball 1 to 5.

A Knick squad w/o Randle and OG and Mitch was able to go 7 in the 2nd round. Add Bridges and KAT to what they had last year?

We absolutely can match up with anyone if Thibs system is tweaked a bit to maximize the new players. Our D intensity is unmatched now we have depth and more spacing.
This is a formidable squad.

Being that Thibs is stubborn with lineup changes, I think he only goes that route if KAT at the 5 isn’t working and breeding mix results. I don’t foresee him forcing Mitch in the lineup just for the sake of things, similar to ihart last season and us playing OG at the 4.
