Brunson + KAT pick n pops gonna be deadly, much better fit and combination than Randle. Although Randle brought up everyone elses efficiencies shooting, I wonder if KAT also has this effect.

I’m still trying to process losing Donte. Needs need to improve bench guard role. I actually want to be healthy at end of year.

I didn’t love the OG trade at first either so my skepticism probably means nothing but we really had something special before this move and I wanted to see it. We replaced a lot of our good depth with guys that have one foot out of the league. Just hope we aren’t gonna need Shamet or Mook a lot cuz idk how much they can really help. Who am I kidding, we’re def gonna need these guys for minutes.

Just think we’re going to miss Randles facilitation from the post. Apparently he’s top 3 in finding guys for corner 3’s. Kat is def more efficient than Randle is but I’m still not sure if he’s a better players. Def don’t think he’s better than Randle and Donte together. Being able to play 5 out is really exciting but will we be able to defend enough to actually use it as weapon? Think we’re gonna see a lot of line ups with Kat next to Mitch and precious and hopefully it’s enough to cover for Kat.

****************
The thing now is Mikal HAS to play the 2 and OG HAS to play the 3 so we can get enough rebounding in there with Precious and Kat.

Where if Mikal was the 3 and OG the 4 (and Donte the 2) all we had to worry about was replacing Mitch (or adding to him) with someone reliable.

Now our bench is Deuce and Hart which are good BUT no bench big. That means OG and Mikal HAVE to slide to 3 and 4 for SHAMET.

Who Tibbs trust so much as we saw in last years playoffs.

Kat is much better than Randle, you have to be an idiot to not realize that.

you’re coming around already fam

My feelings are still the same tbh. Not a big fan of KAT but can’t deny his talent. He has games where he looks unstoppable when he plays like a big man. So I see the upside. But we gotta play him next to Mitch for this to work and he has to learn how to move his feet. It’s a big gamble we’re taking but I see the vision. And it’s better than trading Randle for 2nd round picks and Batum that people suggested us to do.

Randle was very good, and until this past season, he was very tough and healthy. So it's a loss, but the calculation is Towns is a better fit for us, so we're better off. Now we have to see how this theory works out in reality. If he's good, you're still going to enjoy being. Knicks fan. If he's bad, you can enjoy beating up on Sham and many others LOL.

Once people get out their feelings, they will notice how unstoppable our offense can be and mfs like Embiid and Turner and Kp is actually going to have to play defense.

I know when trades of this magnitude are made, everyone has a take and try to figure out why this trade was done, when sometimes we fans make it a lot more complicated than it really is. In this case, think it was rather simple, they didn’t want to extend randle, divo wasn’t happy with diminished role, knicks were looking for a center and KAT was by far the best center available

mpharris36 wrote:It's not hard to imagine donte not loving coming off the bench. He did it in nova but he has to believe he's a starter especially after how he shot the 3 last year. He would have had an extremely reduced role and always seemed like someone that wanted to carve out his own path in NBA. Certainly he enjoyed last year but he's obviously not as close as Hart Brunson and Mikal seem to be.

I don't think they make this trade without getting a feeling Donte wasn't thrilled with a bench role.

Begley said Knicks and t wolves have been talking Randle for KAT all summer. It was until recently that Knicks involved Donte that it got to finish line so they were certainly tried to keep him out of deal but something had to change.

Makes sense; still sad.

the spacing and ball movement once randle got hurt definitely didn’t help his case

brunson found another level with so much room to operate.

teams would sag off randle and wouldn’t care if he shot a three, with kat you can’t do that so the defense will be honest

i really wanna see how balanced and efficient this offense will operate
LOL Y U MAD THO?

Karl Towns not expected to be no big time leader this **** gon look effortless. IQ way higher than Randle.

People crying about Towns defense must not have watched Randle play defense.

Wolves did this to free up money. They are coping saying Nas Reid time lol

That concerns me too. Can't rely on Deuce to be the scorer off the bench. But then again, whos's the bench scorer for Boston? Philly? Milwaukee?

I'm guessing Bridges will be a starter in name only. His primarily role will be the scorer on the second unit.

Yeah this is all damage control. They been wanting Kat for years.

Yeah I think so too. I said back when Grimes got traded for Bojan that all the available cap slots were ripe for a KAT for Randle + filler trade and it actually happened. I didn't think it was happening after the Mikal trade though

I remember your saying that, back then, and later I remember thinking we'd shot our load with the Mikal trade. But the playoffs made KAT seem more attractive, and losing iShart made getting a C more critical.

If everyone else had been healthy, we would have played Boston tough without Ju. Now with KAT, I think we'd have the advantge in the playoffs.

So yeah, especially now that we've realized Divo needed more minutes and wasn't happy coming off the bench for 18 min/game, and that it would have been hard to pay Randle on his next contract, I'm a lot more positive about this trade. I sure hope Leon enjoys rooting for his team because with all the things he does and the way he does them, he seems very cold!
