WTF? Now Wiretap says Julius will be ready for the beginning of training camp!! He wasn't going to be ready for us that soon. Something is up -- they knew he was being traded and didn't want to play him before the trade was done. This is espionage-proof stuff.

Julius Randle Expected To Be Ready For Start Of Training Camp
Julius Randle is expected to be healthy by the start of training camp, sources told Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

Randle underwent season-ending surgery on a dislocated right shoulder last April.

Randle was traded to the Timberwolves on Friday night. Randle was also shopped in deals to the Heat, Hawks, and Pistons.

Wolves head coach Chris Finch is said to have an "affinity" for Randle.

Continued to watch this Randle ranked 20 th percentile on D and Kat is 80 percentile. Knicks going to be fine.

Last night... didn't like the trade. But looking at it again, it's a trade they have to make. Randle's pending deal, stretch 5, Mitch injury. Just makes sense. Can't wait to see the KAT/ Embiid rivalry renew

KAT biggest issue is fouling. He gets too handsy and we will need him on the floor. But Mitch was a big fouler and this certainly helped him in that area.

Making this move now is a big vote of confidence that Reid is capable of handling a larger minutes load and role on offense. How the Wolves split time between Reid and Randle, who is coming off of a shoulder injury but did average 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 46 games last season, will be an interesting puzzle for coach Chris Finch to solve. Finch was an assistant in New Orleans during Randle’s lone season there and is said to be a fan of his game.

Randle has plenty of advocates in Minnesota. The Wolves believe his bully-ball approach on offense can work with what they have around him. He is a solid passer as well and plays a physical style that appeals to Finch. The new combination of depth coupled with anticipated leaps from Edwards, McDaniels and Reid will be relied upon to help the Wolves boost their 17th-ranked offense.

I got a feeling that Randle rejected his extension and that was one of the reasons he got traded. That wasn’t reported anywhere; it’s just a hunch.
