Breaking: KAT to the Knicks

“Donte [DiVincenzo] was really unhappy, and [the Knicks] thought it could be a problem. They also believe that Landry Shamet can provide some quality bench guard minutes,” an anonymous source close to the situation told Sportscasting.

To many, this may seem like a major shock. Personally, I thought DiVincenzo, Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges all loved the idea of playing together. But according to this source, DiVincenzo didn’t necessarily feel this way.

“He did not. DiVincenzo’s not into the Nova thing,” the source said.

My feelings are still the same tbh. Not a big fan of KAT but can’t deny his talent. He has games where he looks unstoppable when he plays like a big man. So I see the upside. But we gotta play him next to Mitch for this to work and he has to learn how to move his feet. It’s a big gamble we’re taking but I see the vision. And it’s better than trading Randle for 2nd round picks and Batum that people suggested us to do.

oh i definitely agree with you there. i’m not the biggest kat supporter either. but i’m glad it’s this kinda of trade rather than dumping randle for literal garbage. we traded value for value

guess freaking what. what did we expect? randle and donte are loved by the team and thibs.

this could backfire on leon. doomer scenario would be mitch is out of shape and cant play much, og getting hurt, KAT doesnt feel like busting his butt off, we are 7th seed in february and thibs reisgns or gets fired. some random ass coach gets hired, that the teams is not digging and we are done being close to contention.

in reality we overachieved the last couple years. mainly because thibs, ermergance of JB and chemistry. this was a cutthroat baller move. high risk and high reward

Remember Donte only started getting minutes once Grimes started horrid and we traded IQ and RJ. Started getting real minutes once everyone got hurt. This is probably a win for him. Only guard I know on Wolves is Edwards.

I think this fits- especially for people like me who were unaware of the deep connections to Town.
What this tells me is Town's had to want to play here- which makes me more comfortable about
his potential as a Knick:

WHY THE KNICKS WANTED TOWNS
The Knicks have long been linked to Towns. Rose was his agent when he was the head of CAA. Towns Sr. attended Rose’s first game as Knicks president. Rose and New York exec William Wesley are close friends of the Towns family.

They had periodically checked in with Minnesota on Towns, dating back to at least last summer.

But there never seemed to be much traction. As recently as last week, people with the Knicks told associates that they were prepared to start the season with Randle and see how it went.
