KAT is one of the best offensive forces in NBA, probably the second best when it comes to bigs. And him going to the Knicks clearly shows that he is not a career loser nor he doesn't wanna be.

Wait...how's that? Knicks haven't won squat in 50 years. How does moving to the Knicks just cancel any loser talk? Not really having a go at Knicks or Towns....I just find that comment fascinating.

This is a joke. Adam Silver wants the Knicks to contend now.

What does history have to do with the fact Knicks are now contender? And were contender even last season where injuries shortened their PO push.

A team that has to play its starters 40+mpg for the 82 game regular season is more pretender than contender. This has been Thibs undoing as coach for his entire career. Rose has mitigated the injury risk adding scoring with Bridges and Towns. To become real contender status I think there is one more move.

Minn had their best season ever

Towns helped beat Jokic

Minn paid so many 1st round picks for Gobert

The Minn broke up their core getting back so much less than it have for Gobert

Whatever the topic at hand, history has alot to do with it. You know....the whole "doomed to repeat it" thing. There were certainly some dominating teams in NY over the last 50 years, so like I said, I'm not having a go at them. But there's been a ton of underachieving, and failure there as well. One nice offseason doesn't just negate all that.

Ask Clipper fans. Over the last 10 years, there's been alot of checks written by Clipper fans. And they are certainly a fan base that likes to pooh-pooh the past.

Best of luck to Towns, and the Knicks.....but Towns was already on a contender, and moved to a place that MIGHT be a contender. We don't know yet. I just wouldn't call a move to the Knicks some sort of defacto proof that he's not, or doesn't want to be a loser. There's no earned cache with the Knicks that bears that out...sorry.
