I'd take that **** Piston's pick right now for Bruce Brown. I think we'll be lucky to come away with a second for him at the trade deadline. Way to go Masai. You paid $23 million for a second round pick.

So now we get to see what package Randle fetches and can compare it to what we got for Siakam. Randle is quite possibly the closest player to Siakam in the entire NBA, in both value/cost and performance.....or a bunch of people extolling how this totally isn't the same.

As for the actual trade, I think it's great for both sides. The knicks without injuries would have easily been in the ECF and possibly the finals without Randle, losing Dante is a bigger hit to them than Randle. But adding KAT in will be huge. Minny obviously didn't want to pay him, same way that NYC didn't want to pay/lose Randle. I don't see this helping Minny from a W/L perspective, but they needed to do it, and I'm high on Reid.

I'm curious to see what the hornets get when everything is settled, and looking forward to hearing the myriad of excuses as to why we couldn't have been that 3rd team...yet again.

I personally think this team is better than Boston if healthy. Brunson is more of an alpha than either Brown or Tatum.

Not enough shooting in your lineup, yes og Mikal and even Kat can hit the 3, but not really snipers

Hasn't KAT been labeled the best big man shooter ever? Isn't OG near the top in corner threes? McBride is a good shooter too and will play more with DDV gone, and he's a good defender too.

Ya i might be alone in this, but i really dont like the last 9 months for the Knicks. Lost Grimes/DDV/IQ/Randle and all of their picks to go all in with a team that is injury prone and very thin. And this is a team that will very much struggle with shot creation against high level defense in the playoffs (C's and Sixers) as they really only have Brunson as a guy that can create surrounded by spot up talent.

I dont think Brunson is good enough for that (i know what he did last playoffs, but Sixers had 40 yo Batum on him and Pacers are a bad defense). You need a Luka or a prime Harden heliocentric player for this type of team to win a title

If Randle can stay healthy, I really like this deal for Minnesota.

I'm not a huge fan of KAT but the fit seems tremendous. I like their starting unit, very balanced. Bridges and KAT should be able to provide more dynamic secondary creation than Knicks had previously. Spacing terrific. Perimeter defense should ease pressure on Kat on the interior.

Knicks have been my fav team to watch in recent years. I'm quite excited now.

They still have Robinson and Precious so their defense will solid. They might need another guard as insurance.

I like the Knicks making a swing. I think they were headed for being the 2nd round team of their era and still might, but at least KAT gives them upside.

DiVincenzo was very good last year, but he's the odd man out after the Bridges trade since Thibs plays his starters 47+ minutes per game. He probably thinks he deserves a primo pay raise and that wasn't gonna happen in New York.

Knicks fans seem to love Randle. He's clearly a flawed player though. Maybe shades of DeRozan in terms of perceived vs. actual reality.

DD shot 40% from 3 last year on 9 attempts which is actually solid.

But how are Gobert and Randle supposed to co-exist when neither can stretch the floor? I feel like they overall downgraded but maybe they can pick something up with the draft pick they acquired before the season starts.

T Wolves offense is gonna look ugly especially in the half court in the playoffs. "Anthony Edwards please save us" offense

I was initially down on this trade for both teams but I think it ends up working out for both. High ceiling move for New York. This puts them firmly second in the East.

I don’t love it for Minnesota because anytime you start making moves to save money it means you’re giving up trying to be competitive. They get deeper and this really puts the pressure on Ant to step up and do more with less.

Does this make the Siakam return look better or worse?

Why wait? Just blame Masai anyways.

We kind of see Randle’s value already. Had to attach DDV + a pick to him to get a quality though flawed starter on one of the worst contracts in the NBA.

With that said, I’ve always maintained that Pascal is a better player simply because he can blend into more offenses and doesn’t cap your ceiling, unlike Randle. But I know consensus sees them as similar players.

What?! lol

KAT (40%) is a better shooter than Donte (37%) and can spot just as well if not better with the added height…not to mention how can you possibly say there’s not enough shooting. They have arguably the best shooting starting lineup in the league lol find me one better

Brunson - 40%
Bridges - 38%
OG - 38%
Towns - 40%

Donte - 8.7 3pa/game
Julius - 5.3 3pa/game
14 3pa on 37%

Towns - 5.3 3pa/game
OG - 4.5 3pa/game
Bridges - 7.2 3pa/game on 37.2%.
17 3PA on 38-39%

The 2 former Knicks almost matched the 3 new Knicks in volume.
Donte's movement n gravity n volume is severely being underrated here.

Boston would have a better 3pt shooting lineup
Philly can shoot with them

The Knicks traded 1 really good 3pt shooter for 3 good 3pt shooters. And if they role with Towns at C in a bunch of lineups that is worth more than DDV’s shooting. The Knicks are going to get up more 3’s and hit them at a higher %. I’m not sure how that is going to be a downgrade from losing DDV (as Randle is not a good shooter at all). If people are undervaluing DDV’s shooting then you’re undervaluing having an elite 3pt shooting big (especially during Towns minutes at C).

KAT playing in NY? Sure. Great trade for the Knicks until he has a couple of bad games in the playoffs and the guy gets crucified.

And missed a chance to use that 23 million dollars better this offseason either by signing guys or making more McDaniels like trades.

It legit feels like the lawsuit the Knicks against the Raptors made them switch roles as well lol.

Brunson Hart og bridges KAT

Pretty sure this is their ideal closing lineup
