The Minnesota Timberwolves waived guard Chasson Randle. Minnesota signed Randle to an Exhibit 10 contract earlier this week.
The Wolves are in process of finalizing a trade that will send Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks for a return package that is expected to include Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and Keita Bates-Diop. Waiving Randle frees up a roster spot necessary for Minnesota to make the three-team trade with New York, which also expected to include the Charlotte Hornets.
