Ron Swanson wrote:Bucks were #20 in bench net-rating last season and I'm actually surprised it was even that high. The fact that a 35-year old Pat-Bev came in and immediately looked like our 5th-6th best player makes it easy to see why. Washed Crowder, Cam Payne being meh, the corpse of Gallo getting rotation minutes down the stretch, and too much early season PT to bad, young players.

Flash forward to the 2024 opening day roster, and now we're actually able to roll 4-5 deep with quality, non-ancient rotation veterans off the bench. That alone is gonna boost the RS record even with the inevitable load management of the top guys. I mean, which 6 through 10 was better, now or 2019?

2019: Hill/Donte/Pat/Korver/Ersan

2024: Wright/Green/Pat/Prince/Bobby

Holding out hope Pat is not in our top 10, but just looking at that I'd probably take 2019 across the board given equal health. Not by a ton (except for 2019 Pat > 2024 Pat), though, and the potential for somebody to unexpectedly break out (Green, Dre, CL, Umude) and tip the scales is there. We did not get that in 19-20 apart from a flicker from DJ Wilson.

That said, Dame >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bledsoe.

This right here and dont be shocked if AJ Johnson gets minutes this year you can’t teach speed and athleticism like he has. Doc will play the players that deserve minutes.

Agree people get really pissed at doc or bud for not playing their youts lol but if they deserve minutes( green) they eill get them if they dont( marjon) they wont.
Not a huge AJ fan as speed doent mean anything in the NBA if thats all you have but if he shows he can play in PS n TC he will get minutes if he blows he wont

But his speed is a big asset when you can dribble the ball which he has shown in videos I have seen where he blows by his defender to get to the rim and score. No one is going to double team him with Giannis and dame on the court I think this kid is a special talent he just needs to get stronger and experience. I had the same feeling about Giannis when he was drafted by far the most potential since Giannis.

I've successfully talked myself into Livingston cracking the rotation this season. Think we have a sick top 9 but just need someone to rise up and claim some backup forward minutes so I'm speaking this Livingston year 2 leap into existence.

He has that kind of speed but is just way longer so even at his young age and only Dame on the roster that has quickness to him he could be a valuable player to give playing time. I am very curious about this team and the young players who’s going to step forward green Livingston Johnson Ajax talent is one ingredient but desire and wanting to be great is what makes the truly great players.

Only for him to log a combined 11 minutes in the first 5 games of the actual season....lol.

It's not even Oct and you are starting off with pessimistic vibes.

Green kills it in preseason. Then opening night he plays like 3 minutes in the 2nd quarter.

You have to admit, that does sound like something we all could picture happening.

I think Giannis is still at worst the 2nd best player in the league when he's healthy.

And I am ecstatic about adding Trent JR.

There, I said a couple nice things....lol.

Horst has been adamant about how highly he values Brook so maybe he would say Sabonis would be the price.

Either way any Kings whispers these days make me hope something that gets Keon Ellis to the Bucks wouldn’t be so far fetched.

If Horst can get anything for Khris, now is the time. Well, now is past the time but waiting won't help.

The team has had him in cotton wool for 3 seasons now and unfortunately it hasn't mattered much. I don't know how or why anyone continues to trust him being able to stay healthy playing regular rotation minutes be it in January or May.

At least it's not something out of left field (Dame or Giannis) & they were minor procedures, so hopefully its just precaution.

Just because we have seen this thing before with injury news around Khris. We’ll see if he’s really ready by opening day. Teams benefit from saying guys will play, we see it all the time with all teams and just sports in general. Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst I guess.

Got this article from a NBA writer on X take for whst its worth

Outside of when he got hurt IN the playoffs in 2022, Khris hasn't missed a single playoff game since. Meanwhile, Giannis has missed like 8 of em. Point is, Khris has been there when his team needed him most beyond the one post season he got hurt during.

And he's played extremely well. He was the only of the big 3 last post season to play every playoff game.

He got these procedures as a little clean up, not because he was seriously injured. Team is just going to be cautious so it's 100% when he steps out there. But he has been running and conditioning for awhile, and while he's not cleared for full contact 5v5, he has been cleared for full contact 1v1 and 3v3.

In other words, he's out there playing basketball at a high level in practice. They are just making extra sure his ankles are fully healed before going all out in a 5v5. Could be cleared even before training camp begins.

I bet he even plays during the pre-season.

Just got to sell Khris on the Manu thing and shift him to 6th man. Get 50 games out of him playing about half game time, ease him into the playoffs and see how many years we can extract from him. Dame and Giannis are both going to be shooting for 30+ a game heading into the season, don't need much Khris in 24.
