Growing up in the 90s... this is sad and I'm in tears. His post career should shine even more than his playing career. The man speaks 7 languages, a kind heart and the greatest name of all time, "Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo".

Sheittt also forgot the greatest pick up line of all time, "WHO WANTS TO SEX MUTOMBO".

There was a stretch in the NBA (not just the Knicks), where every team had like 4 +7 footers just for the sake of having big men.

At least, that's how I remembered it.

Mutombo was also 37 years old that season. It was time to move on so we could focus on our future big men like Jackie Butler, Sweetney, Bruno Sundov, and Nazr Mohammed.

I'll never understand it. Dude used his wealth to make life altering changes for people for the better. He wanted nothing in return. Yet he only gets 58 years here, whereas others with 1000x his money live selfishly and do nothing for anyone but themselves and they'll be breathing til they're 90.

he was getting older at that time. could still block shots with his timing and length but wasn't too mobile anymore.
