Sure hope they can spam that text message pick and roll vs Boston. Spoiler... it's not... everything we heard sounds like code for impending hero-ball year. We're the 2nd version on the Clippers or KD Nets.. a bunch of big names just doing their own thing and shaking their head at each other when it doesn't work.

Except the part you skip where when our stars share the floor, we're the best team in the league.

So good they got their coach fired.

Players didnt get griffin fired .....griffin did that himself the start of his demise was his debacle with stotts

Either way. Coaching is part of what makes a team "the best" or not. Firing him indicates we weren't.. disjointed hero ballers. We need a strong coach

I'm taking it glass half empty so there's that. I just need an X factor to believe we can actually click as a team.

My 2 possible glass half-full are:
1. a focused, engaged and empowered Dame
2. Post Lakers more confident Darvin coming back empowered by Doc/Giannis and more voice

The media fluff day just triggers me.. and... people not doing what they would, Giannis still not working with Dame, KM not healthy AGAIN, etc

If he's ready for the season and the conditioning is fine, which obviously is an ask, him missing running some team scrimmages and a fan fest game or something is something I'm fine with.

The problem is, historically, missing training camp and a couple warmup games turns into an entire year of Progression.

Exactly... seen this movie before... surgury every summer, use a fraction of the regular season as your preseason, and finally try to flip a switch in the playoffs and noone really knows how to play with this version of you

Shooting further... Dame's #s last year... even efficiency and %s were all much better WITHOUT Km on the floor... all year. So with them not getting together and KM not available and questionable for the beginning if the season... what can improve? It's a chemistry or style of play thing.... we're going to figure it out in Dec when KM is cleared to play 25+ minutes? Red Flag

Giannis saying he's making changes to stay healthy all year but not saying he won't barrel into walls this year is another red flag.. nothing sounded different.. if you guys heard something different please tell me.

Plenty of doom and gloom on the FIRST day of camp. Sure I wish Middleton was 100%. But he'll never be 100%. You play the cards you are dealt. Khris has missed a lot of games the last 2 years but was great in the playoffs. Giannis played 48 more games over the last 2 years and was hurt in the playoffs. I'm not going to butt clench with each loss. Eye on the prize: healthy team in April.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

WTF cares what anyone says on media day? It's all fluff. For every team, every player in the league.

Media day doesn't mean really anything but I'm not ready to be blindly optimistic either. The team is still old and slow and kinda dumb.

I'm excited for the season to start but I'm not a believer yet.

Think it all comes down to Gary Trent and Delon Wright. Those guys either cover for our big weaknesses or they don't.

Personally think Wright is somewhat washed. As for Trent, that looks like a good upgrade on Beasley.

The other X factor is Doc. He's got to be able to actually get a system in place that emphasizes the team strengths and mitigates the weaknesses. Given that this mini camp is in LA (more golfing with Larry David?) I'm not sold.

I make no apologies for my staunch advocacy of flipping the switch.

The Bucks are having a mini camp in LA?

I pretty much tune out all things NBA after the Finals and only follow casually during camp/pre-season, I don't get fully locked in on everything until the real games begin. So I miss a lot of stuff and I missed this.

Between Giannis and Dame not linking up 1 single time over the course of a 5 month off-season and now this. Not good. I know some are going to say none of this matters, but it's not a good look to start things off for a team that is talking a big game.

Explain why the team getting together out of town is not good.

I'm gonna choose to be optimistic about Delon and GTJ until proven otherwise.

Delon is in an absolutely ideal situation for his playing style if he's got any gas left in the tank.

GTJ can also earn a silly amount of money if his defense improves beyond being a steals merchant.

Certainly plausible the Toronto dumpsterfire hampered his development.

Get him on staff full time. It's cool seeing Rondo in Bucks gear.

Trying to get several MAIN rotation people integrated with high expectations a team that's NEVER fully healthy has been a yearly failure. We need some solid stretches where everyone is available and can get clicked in to their playoff role.... we need that to consist of several 20-30 point TEAM wins.. that's what championship teams can do. Teams should fear us during these stretches and know that a loss is incoming instead of having hope from us having poor health and coaching.
