I’m excited about this team but this draft picks situation isn’t great. The 2nd rd picks are fine - 7 tradable over 7 years, plus the Was pick is likely 2 2nds and each year we pick up another tradable 2nd.

But we essentially have no first to trade until the 2026 draft.

I guess in theory if we need to pivot we can turn Bridges or Anunoby into picks.

We have a 4 year or so window with this team. I agree pick situation isn't ideal, hopefully they can hit on a second round pick on one of the drafts.

Are you talking about trading with the knicks or their hopes of making it to the WCF without a defensive center?

I think they'd rather not make the second round than trade one of their two best young players on great contracts to be bounced in the first or second round anyway

At the moment you have to get past Denver and Boston. So you have to have people to deal with Jokic and KP. You can't get away with 6'9" Precious or whatever. That just doesn't work for either (agreed, different propositions). You need at least someone in the Mitch-zone. People so underestimate Mitch it's unreal.

Since the only thing left they can afford is a rookie scale contract, I'd suppose that either McCullars or Haukporti get converted from 2 way to rookie scale.

I'd guess it's McCullar, though they have plenty of wings. Or it's Haukporti if the Knicks trade Sims, for whatever reason. Or in the unlikely case they trade Mitch.
