The fact that I've seen folks checking in to see what Divo and Randle are up to, or how much love folks still have for RJ and IQ...it's different. Other fan bases aren't like this one, I'll say that much. Dudes would come and go in NJ and people didn't care one iota about em once that jersey changed (and best believe, the players reciprocated that feeling).
As tough as it is to play in NYC, because excellence is the expectation no matter what sport, it also comes with some real love. Tough love at times, but love all the same.
Carry on, just making a random observation at 4:57pm on a sleepy Thursday.
We're just toxic tbh.

It’s possible things can be different this time around though. I’m hoping mark Bryant can turn him into that anchor like he did to Ayton when they went to the finals.
Can you please leave for at least 48 hours and let us be excited and welcome KAT to the Knicks without all your BS? It's getting so old at this point and just killing the vibes in these forums. Go hang out in the T'Wolves forum where they would love to read your posts about how bad KAT is and how Randle will be there savior.
Sounds like you have a reading comprehension problem. I think the trade is good if we play KAT at the 4. Not sold on him being the 5 full time. It sucks you can’t read.
we dont gave a coaching staff to make the best possible decisions and schemes?! these arent even arguments for a real discussion
Jokic is much worse and slower defender, but he got a ring

Re: KAT to Knicks Part 3
Calinks wrote:Towns is a far more gifted offensive player than a lot of you realize. Man was a walking top ten offense before the Gobert trade. I would say a good chunk, about 30 percent, of his offense was taken away once the Timberwolves got Rudy because Towns had to play PF against quicker guys and the spacing was much different on the court. Even with his neutered offensive game he still managed to put up roughly 20 PPG a night.
Him going back to center will open his game back up. He is an easy scorer and barely ever gets shut down one on one. He alsodrives a lot more than people think, he routinely cooked other Centers from the perimeter with his drives in the season or two before Gobert. His big problem was he gets tunel vision on those drives so when teams started to load up, he created a lot of turnovers. Befor teams got smart with the loading up and foul baiting though, he was roasting normal-slow center out there. It's why in the Memphis series they had to basically take Steven Adams out of the games, Adams is a damn good player but the dude was getting molested by Towns' drive game.
Give him a chance, you will see his crazy talent and reliability. Post-season he has had some problems for sure, I wont dispute that, but for the regular season, the dude is as consistent as it gets and is pure money when it comes to getting buckets. just put down the 20+ points every night on good efficiency, easy, no doubt about it.
I wanted to go back to the last few pages of the Part 2 thread to echo the sentiments from a fellow Timberwolves moderator.
Interestingly enough, it feels like Gersson Rosas (along with the rest of the front office) is creating a similar version of what Rosas was building in Minnesota before he was axed. I know that all of the moves are not directly attributed to Rosas, but this one certainly seems to be.
Towns is a unique player. I think it is important to prioritize the types of players you put next to him, especially in the frontcourt and at PG.
I personally draw a line from Brunson to what Rosas thought that D'Angelo Russell could be. He targeted Russell way back when to be his version of James Harden, in a sense. I see some parallels between that and what Brunson does at the PG position, though obviously Brunson is levels above.
There seem to be two methodologies of frontcourt pairings next to Towns. There are the jumbo-sized center, like he had the past few seasons in Rudy Gobert. There is also the more mobile four, who is able to play in space. Jarred Vanderbilt played that role in Minnesota, and I see OG Anunoby as a similar type of defensive presence (again, at a higher level).
But this roster setup brought out the best in Towns offensively, while building a decent enough defense with him at center. Rebounding was an issue in that Memphis series, and I fear it could be a problem for the Knicks at some point. But Towns is crazy talented. Minnesota simply got to a point where they were at their limit of what they could probably achieve with that group.

I think Jokic is a better defender than KAT to be fair. He's the leader in steals per game among centers and he's great at reading the game, with great hands and anticipation skills, as well as an excellent post defender. He just has no recovery skills or rim protection skills whatsoever.
KAT's more athletic and provides a bit more rim protection but he's not as smart a defender as Jokic.

kat's a 5/4 and precious is a 4/5 i'd start by playing them together and seeing how that works. remember when precious clean-blocked joel embiid in the playoffs

And Thibs got more out of Randle than any other coach by far. It will be interesting to see if he can keep the same level of play he had in NYC.

This is interesting to me, because I actually see them as great fits. From a distance and soaking in hours of Youtube footage in the last week, Randle's personality reminds me somewhat of a more even-keeled Pat Beverley. And Ant and PatBev were very close in their time here.
And on the court, Randle couldn't say enough about Finch as a coach, and vice versa. So I am not too worried about that.

Minnesota's biggest problem was scoring last year
and now they got a worse F whose higher volume and lower efficiency.
I can absolutely see them struggling big time next year offensively, leading to friction.

Agree to an extent... Curry lead the NBA in steals one year, but he isn't a good defender.
