Mitch-Deuce-Precious for Gordon and Denver ships one of their scrubs and a pick to Charlotte (again, ldo).

Knicks sign McCullar and Hukporti and two other random undrafted rookies. Swap Sims for DAJ possibly too?

Towns / Sims (or DAJ) / Hukporti
Gordon /Josh Hart / random rookie
Anunoby / Dadiet / random rookie
Bridges / McCullar
Brunson / Payne / Kolek

Why would Denver give up Gordon? They want a another Center to battle Minny?

I agree - it makes little sense. But I suppose theoretically Mitch could occupy the dunkers spot and play similar D to Gordon. Could he? Maybe? Or maybe a mixture of Precious and Mitch. And Deuce would improve their 3pt shooting theoretically.

Slim pickings to be honest for the 2 random rookies. Nearly everyone with a pulse the Knicks have the draft rights to is playing in the Spanish Liga and probably not that tempted by $1m to come and sit on the bench whilst Thibs ignores them.

But Nnaji might be a candidate and there are one or two gems like Brad Newley. ;)

He has one year left. So if Knix see him as a rental to win a championship maybe and maybe Denver doesnt think they can resign him

That would be the idea. That Denver don't see how to organize the apron *and* don't want to pay the money. Whilst for the Knicks he would be a rental and then the FO could see what apron magic they can weave .. and Dolan doesn't baulk at spending - you can make lots of other criticisms of him, but that's not one.

Ofc, Thibs is not going to be happy with a roster of 14 including 6 rookies, but, hey, ...

Yup an injured Mitch for an injured Murphy.

As far as Trey Murphy goes, it sounds like the Pelicans are the more aggressive party. I would imagine that Murphy would then slot into PF which then would push OG back to SF and Hart back to the bench (which I think is really more ideal).

As far as roster spots? Yeah Id be looking for vet ring chasers on minimums over no name young guys. Not sure if that becomes a problem under the new apron system (I've heard hints that a vet minimum is not the same as a rookie minimum for that).

I think that’s why we lost Mook. Just when we are about to benefit from ring chasing vets they change the rules. Now that LeBron’s team isn’t a serious contender I guess it’s ok.

If Pelicans are ready to move on from Brandon Ingram, maybe a Ayton for Ingram swap would be ideal. It gives Pelicans another year along the 30m range and Blazers can move on from their glut of big man and just sign Trey Murphy. NO would actually have great defense and more than enough scoring to make noise in the West.

Ayton | Theis
Zion | Murphy
Jones | Murphy
McCollum | Hawkins
Murray | Alvarado

If Pelicans want a cheaper option at center but playing at a high defensive level, then gotta go with Mitch, Timelord or Beef Stew and dangle Murphy.

I agree with this. If it's just a signing... McGee or Dwight Howard are your preferred choice. I don't see any other centers out there and I'm looking for 5-10 minutes from them without wrecking anything up.

The issue with that is Portland likes Ayton, and they are committed to going younger. Ingram doesn't fit what they are doing. He actually does fit the Pelicans timeline they just dont want to pay him.

also they want a defensive Center.

This works on Spotrac trade machine. Picks would be involved. Jabari Smith Jr. would be our PF. Tre Murphy III would come off the bench with Hart.

Knicks
Tre Murphy III
Jabari Smith Jr.

Rockets
Miles McBride
Herb Jones

Pelicans
Mitchell Robinson
Tari Eason

Really?! Portland wants to keep Ayton... geezus. They have a glut of big man.. Clingan is going to be the 3rd center coming off the bench?
