POR/ORL/NO/ATL
Portland trades Simons, Banton, Time Lord, Reath
Portland receives Anthony, Bogdanovic, Bitadze, [worst of the two picks being traded]
Orlando trades Anthony, Bitadze, worse of ORL/DEN 2025 1st
Orlando receives Simons
NO trades Ingram
NO receives Capela, Time Lord, [better of the two picks being traded]
Atlanta trades Capela, Bogdanovic, worse of 2025 SAC 1st (top 12 prot)/2025 LAL 1st
Atlanta receives Ingram, Reath, Banton
--
Blazers clear out some scoring guards and centers to make room for the players they're actually building around. Scoot/Sharpe/Clingan are the future. They get a 1st, a wing in Bogdanovic that can play alongside their core rather than in front of it, and Anthony who can play behind it.
Magic upgrade their guard rotation for a scorer who can be a better #2 next to Banchero. Simons is really just a significantly upgraded Cole Anthony.
Pelicans fix their busted C rotation with a starter who can rebound and defend, and a backup who can rebound and defend. They move on from Ingram and hand the keys to the wing rotation to the younger guys Murphy/Jones, and open minutes for Hawkins behind them and CJ. Also a future pick that could be quite decent.
Atlanta attempts to make the leap with a real #2 option, while also finally handing the ropes to the C position to Okongwu. The lineup of Trae/Ingram/Risacher/Johnson/Okongwo still has decent bit of depth behind it as well, with Banton/Daniels/Hunter/Nance/Reach

Love it for POR but ATL would have to really love BI to go for it.

If Atlanta liked Ingram, he would've been in the Murray trade. Think this is a non-starter on the Hawks' end.

ATL would have to de use if his salary would be worth the investment considering what they will be paying Young and Johnson.

Re: POR/ORL/NO/ATL
I like Bogdanovic, however at his age, he really doesn't fit. I can't see POR trading Simons & Williams combined, for essentially (1) late 1st and whatever they could get for re-routing Bogdanovic (a late 1st, at best?; 2-3 2nd's?).

Re: POR/ORL/NO/ATL
I like it. OP isn't necessarily a fan of none of the 4 teams, and I don't have stake in these teams either, but I think it would be a good swing to take. I mean, we get some bad value return trades at times, not even KAT got what I expected as a return, market is a bit weird at times. This checks some boxes for me.
What I like the most is that ORL gets a definite scorer which really helps its roster.
NOLA turns a disgruntled/derivative piece into a stopgap C in Capela and hopefully Timelord gets healthy. That's solid, they have Murphy and Jones to cover SF anyway. It's not losing BI for nothing.
POR gets a definite upgrade with 3 decent players, and Bitadze will help w/ defense, Bogi is a great vet to pair on the wing. Anthony can be their bench spark plug or a good trade piece later.
finally Hawks get a contract year BI and he can turn mentor and find a home, or play his way into a bigger deal even if ATL doesn't re-sign him, it would give insurance and whatnot to Rissacher's development. He'd be able to get out of the West and open up his game more.

Re: POR/ORL/NO/ATL
It's not crazy, but I could see several teams not being real happy.
Portland probably values Simons more thana this (I'm' not sure they should but I think they do). The players they get back are just kind of meh. Good enough rotation depth to hurt the tank but not lead anywhere, generally not that young and with limited resale value.
I think Simons would help Orlando a lot as a high-minutes 3rd guard, keeping the offense moving as starters rotate in and out. He's expensive for that role though so I don't know that they'd want to make that move.
NO gets poor value for a 'star' but fills their center need.
Atlanta gets to try out Ingram for cheap enough (in trade value) that they shouldn't feel committed to having to make an overpaid offer to keep him (his trade price was higher a few months ago when the Murray deal happened).
I'd recommend a simpler deal of McCollum to Orlando for Anthony/Goga but I don't think that works salary-wise.

I don’t hate it because of expecting to flip Bogdanovic for something. Though I’d still rather push for a simpler trade with the Magic: Simons for Cole + better of Denver/Magic 1st (lotto protected) + salary filler.

This^
Besides Bogi's 3pt shooting volume and accuracy is critical in a Quin style offense. Hawks saw Ingram as a taller version of Murray that just won't 'fit' in Quin quick hit motion offense.

I can see that, especially after reaching to draft him. If he can earn some real minutes this year with improved shooting that might be a real boost for ORL.

I also can't see Orlando being seriously interested in Simons. The FO has been very clear that they are interested in players that are strong defenders.

Of course.
Will be interesting to see how that works out this year.

Ingram looks to be the first big victim of the new CBA. Money is tight and BI level players are difficult to pay max and build a team around.

Bogdanovitch is the 2nd best player in this deal, and he's treated as a filler, he should be routed somewhere else, and the value added goes to the Hawks, for example, to LAL for D'Lo + 2 2nds.

Simons to Orlando has been dead for a long time. Isn't he like the worst defender in the league?

Bogi's value to the Hawks as a leader and scorer is greater than what other teams are likely willing to give up. The Hawks are also unlikely to give up draft picks any time soon.
Ingram doesn't really fit in Atlanta, so the outgoing would have to be something more like Capela + Hunter.

This.
Anyone who truly knows Orlando’s FO would know Simon’s makes zero sense.
It doesn’t make sense stylistically.
It doesn’t make sense financially.
It doesn’t make sense roster wise.
I would even go as far to say that Cole with his current contract, continuity and current role (similar role to what Simon’s would play) is worth more to Orlando than Anfernee with all things considered.
I also think Goga is going to become one of the most coveted back up bigs in the league (if not already) and this move would be selling short imo.
Orlando has chosen a direction and are committed to versatility, whether that direction is the correct one or not is TBD.

Re: POR/ORL/NO/ATL
I am starting to believe that Simons best future in this league is as a super sixth man off the bench to jump start the second unit in a defense oriented team.
What might make or break Simons value is to see if he can come out hitting straight off the bench. Some players need to be on the floor for awhile to get into a rhytme. If Simons can come in cold and spur an offensive run for the second unit (hitting 6-8 pts, and a 10 pt team run) he's got value. I get it, if he scores 6 quick points, and gives up 8, it counter balances his teams second unit going on a run.
The other issue that not a lot of people are talking about is durability. He hasn't shown that he's durable as a starter. A prominent bench role on a playoff or contending team might extend his season.
