I missed it, but Ionescu going 1-7 looks like an anomaly. Also it looks like Jackie Young and KP couldn’t miss. Even Stewie struggled a bit.
Good for Vegas for refusing to get swept. But if the odds are reasonable I’m dropping money on the Liberty tomorrow.

Re: 2024 WNBA PLAYOFFS Discussion Thread
The most impressive thing about the rising WNBA ratings is it's damn near impossible to know when and where to watch the games lol. Here's the schedule for tomorrow as far as I can tell:
SEMIFINALS CONTINUE SUNDAY OCTOBER 6 (Best of 5)
(1) New York Liberty vs. (4) Las Vegas Aces 3pm ET on ABC (NYL lead series 2-1)
(2) Minnesota Lynx vs. (3) Connecticut Sun 5pm ET on ESPN (MIN lead series 2-1)

Re: 2024 WNBA PLAYOFFS Discussion Thread
So I'll say, in the poll before the playoffs I voted Liberty. I was tempted to pick the Lynx, but I had considerable concerns for the Lynx against the Sun and as they say, the matchup makes the fight. To get past Con and then withstand NY just seemed awful hard.
However, having seen the Lynx struggle in that first game, but then come through in the next two, it feels like this group might be emerging as one that has an answer for prior Achilles' heels.

Love this and yeah, we might be seeing Phee about to become a crossover star in a way she hasn't yet.
Why has it taken so long? Well:
1. She wasn't seen as a "chosen one" in college. 2019 was seen as a draft where there wasn't any real superstar level players after Sabrina decided not to come out, and yet still Phee was only the 6th pick in the draft. So she didn't get that early hype that would have made her a true rookie sensation despite winning the ROY.
2. She was drafted onto Sylvia Fowles' team. That meant the team was looking to play differently which limited Phee's value...though I'd still argue that Phee was quite valuable - MVP of the team - while Fowles, as she'd done in the prior era, got too much credit due to her box score production. Fowles didn't retired until after 2022.
3. It really wasn't until this season when coach Reeve embraced a pace & space model with the kind of shooting you need to optimize around Phee.

Definitely will feel bad for the fanbase if they can't pull this off.
Especially if they end up playing and losing to the Lynx.
Lynx just finished retiring the jerseys from the Maya Moore dynasty and were thought to be rebuilding a little. If Phee breaks through during peak Stewie and A'ja, it'll be wild.
If the Sun somehow advance, along with the Liberty, at least we'll know one tortured fanbase will finally get a ring.
Going to be some fun basketball today and the rest of the way.

Another thing about Phee.
It's amazing how she can go out there and just destroy the opponent all night long, and it looks like she's not even breaking a sweat or breathing hard.

A New York Vs Minnesota final would be hilariously timely as far as the basketball world is concerned. Here's hoping.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

Liberty need to close the series out today! Can't give the Aces life at all.
Hope to see some adjustments from Liberty to get Sabrina & JJ going early.
