Re: Postgame thread: Knicks @ Hornets
Just felt good to see the team playing again. It's nice to have a bunch of stars on the team. It's nice to root for a winner. Whatever the trades did to last year's team is just a fact of life. Accept it and move on.
On to the next one.

Just watching the final 5 minutes now. I think our bench players (Achiuwa, Deuce, Shamet, and Terry Johnson) looked pretty good.

Re: Postgame thread: Knicks @ Hornets
Josh Hart doesn’t fit with the starters. You need to let McBride start with this group and let Hart be the super 6th man.
Brunson/Kolek
McBride/Shamet
Bridges/Hart
Anunoby/Hart
Towns/Precious

Too early to say what fits honestly. It's just not the same team anymore. The chemistry is gone so this is going to take time. OG played 23 games here last season and it wasn't in a row.

We need Mitch back or another backup C who can split time because Sims is garbage.

Hell yeah we could use him
But I don’t think that’s gonna happen at this point

That's too small of a starting 5.

gotta figure out how to get Mikal going. find his place in the offense. don't want to treat him like OG on offense. want a bigger role

I think you will see a lot of him subbing out early in 1st and 3rd qtr...to run a lot of his minutes with the bench.
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:
ROSTER
Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez
Alex Caruso/Keon Ellis/Justin Champagnie
Steph Curry/Chris Paul/Jase Richardson

Thibs has to make this fit together. Brunson and KAT are 1a & 1b. OG Mikal need to find their spots off of that. Not even sure what kind of offense we're gonna be running. Hart not needing the ball or even wanting it on offense is good for those two though.
Plenty of games to play to figure it out I guess.

But I learned today that he’s Derrick Fisher’s nephew, which made a whole lotta sense as he was bricking 3 fts to lose the game.

Overreaction gang is in midseason form...
I predicted that people will want Thibs fired because he gives minutes to Cam instead of Vanilla Brunson and that is why.
Starters still some gelling tp happen, give them some time but of course, Knicks fans are about as patient as a sugar fueled toddler so...yea

Re: Postgame thread: Knicks @ Hornets
Anyone reacting to the starters is just silly. Sit tight, things are gonna gel just fine.
The big news here is Deuce McBride. The secondary news is Tyler Kolek.
Thibs is giving Deuce the IQ green light to push the pace and shoot everydamnthing. Deuce seems confident and like he’s put in the work on that pull up J. He will anchor the bench and the bench will do just fine.
Early days still, but damn if Kolek doesn’t look like a gamer. What we saw today will demand minutes from Thibs as long as he can hold his own on defense. As soon as there’s an injury to the top 9 (not KAT), I expect Kolek’s number called.
Thibs is clearly experimenting with Cam/Shamet (Chamet?) chemistry, and tbh it looks promising. They won’t play a lot but when they do, expect pushed pace and open looks.
Everyone needs to chill on the starters. You don’t just throw 4 veteran all-stars (or borderline AS) together and expect them to be the Globetrotters on day 1. It will take a couple months for egos and roles to settle in. Each one is a very known commodity, so chill. It will gel, just give it a minute.

Kolek is already better than Payne.
Cam Payne is simple too streaky and doesn’t bring the hustle and basketball IQ that Tyler does.

Thank you, Rick Brunson.

KAT and JB should sit around the 8-10 min.. let Mikal and Deuce run the 2nd unit. That's where he can score the most is against opposing 2nd unit. If Mikal plays with KAT and JB, he should focus on DPOY level lockdown.

Re: Postgame thread: Knicks @ Hornets
Didn’t watch the game yet but….
I’m not worried about Deuce or Josh’s roles. They’ll be bench players by the end of the season if we’re healthy.
For all the Kolek talk, it’s Pacome’s role we need to be worried about, esp if OG is going to be playing as a 4… previous will be important too.

If Kolek develops a passing game I believe he can have the same type of career that Steve Nash had.
