Just finished watching.. Lots of fun.
Walsh would be so solid because of his length and athleticism *IF* he just develops a knock down shot. Still no strong signals on that but he is staying withing himself vs trying to "Tatum Up"
JD can not be judged correctly unless we see him play steady minutes with NBA players. Too many Big-time PGs ahead of him here on Boston.
I will try to reverse Jinx this but Baylor looks far more like a potential Bust than he will be Hauser's replacement. Nothing "natural" looking about his mechanics. way way off and does look too slow to create. Time will tell. But at 24 already, how much time will he get?
Playing Springer and Walsh together might lead to some ugly offense. Believe more in Walsh than Springer who looks quite small of offense.
As stated by a few, Hauser's new "put the ball and attack the closeouts" looked better than ever today.
PP is still "picked on" often due to his size, but how can you not be impressed by how he can impact the game with his skillset.
Peterson looks like he is making the most of his limited opportunities.
Queta and Kornet seem good enough regular season fill ins, but neither should be KP's long-term replacement. Tillman may have a chance to be something close to Horford. Knock down shooting with Al's confidence needs to happen one day.
I am convinced Joe will not give Watson any chance to compete for a rotation minute player. He will struggle in very limited garbage time.
Walker's game needs a definite and steady role. His game will not translate any other way.

2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I feel sorry for the Sixers. Running into a juggernaut named Payton on 6 days rest.

I think both him and Hauser look a little bit better than last season.
And they were already 2 of the best bench players in the league.

I don't see the Celtics loosely throwing around $10 million this year, but unfortunately I also don't see them paying a real boatload when Hauser is getting paid after the season. So someone like Walker and Peterson come into play. What would be totally ridiculous is bringing him in to play that little yesterday. What is the point?
Walker is playing about the amount of mins that guys on an exhibit 10 contract usually get in preseason.
Actually, guys on exhibit 10 often get DNP's in preseason (Enaruna has 2 DNP's, Dmytro has 1, Harper has 1. Last year in preseason, Steward and Gabriel had 2 DNO's each in preseason, Lamar Stevens had 1..)

Yeah, Walker's gotta make the NBA Squad, too. He can't go on a Two-Way; too many years.
Does he suck? -- He might have to go on the Maine Squad, as a regular player (non-Two-Way).
Yeah, Brad said that the exhibit 10 guys will likely end up in Maine. And he said this after we already filled all of our 2-way spots so that implies they would get just regular G league contracts with us.
The exhibit 10 guys we signed after this article was the big man Dmytro and Walker..
With 14 players on standard contracts, satisfying the league minimum, it's an opening the Celtics can leave vacant.
"We're just going to monitor the health of our team and see how everybody's doing, and if there's any issues that arise between now and September that we need to really address, then we might use it," the franchise's president of basketball operations, Brad Stevens, told Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe.
"But right now, I'd say it's unlikely. We're still looking to sign a couple of Exhibit 10s that their most likely path will be to play in Maine. But we'll see."

Through 2 games, it seems like this is the depth chart (for first couple of months, without KP) :
Starters: tatum, brown, jrue, white, horford
star bench guys: pritchard, hauser
will get plenty of mins, especially on back to backs when Al sits: Tillman, Kornet
(Gap)
Fighting for end of rotation mins: Queta, Walsh, Springer
(Gap)
Everyone else will be in Maine but JD could see some mins as an emergency depth PG & Peterson could see some mins as an emergency depth wing

thought Queta was a lot better in G2. bodied up jokic and usually cut off his first move, forced him back into help and shoot over him. most importantly he didn't foul. jokic made shots anyways but that's why he's mvp.
overall i was very impressed with both teams starters when they were in. midseason form in the first two preseason games, you can tell both these squads are locked in. denver will be a problem if we see them in the finals.

I don't read too much from the preseason, but if I did, I'd say we're going undefeated for the season.

The Sixers' Guerschon Yabusele was last on the Celtics in 2019. His only remaining green teammates are Brown, Tatum, and back again Al Horford. It is of note that I can still spell Guerschon without looking it up.
The 2018-19 roster included Smart, Rob Williams, Kyrie, Hayward, Baynes, Theis, Morris, and Rozier. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BOS/2019.html

I'm just glad Queta got to play Jokic and hopefully gets some time against Embiid on Saturday. If he gets destroyed, so what? It's the preseason. Queta needs to go against these guys in my opinion so he has some knowledge to lean on in case he is needed in the regular season.

Totally Agree. Let Queta get used to defending these Guys. Not many people can defend them well, anyway.

One game plus minus is meaningless, but I believe Queta was +4 in his time against Jokic yesterday, even though Jokic scored on him like he does on everybody. Queta is routinely a strong plus minus player. Jokic needs to be way plus for Denver to win consistently, and was best in the league in that stat last year. He's unbelievably skilled and poised.
Exhibitions aside, the Celtics are strong. They can sit their top two centers and still perform against top teams.

Agreed this (and last year’s) Celtics versions really have been amazing.
It’s tempting to say this team can achieve xyz with the obligatory “if healthy” caveat. But then I remember they were dominant last year and actually weren’t even healthy and missed their starting C for most of the playoffs.

Have just caught bits of the games so far, Tatums 3 looks smoother and much quicker.

Bobby's article says that 1 of the 4 exhibit 10 guys (walker, enaruna, harper, Dmytro) would need to get waived to sign Scrubb, it doesn't indicate which one would get waived.
Howeevr, Bobby also says that Scrubb will take a few more weeks to prepare for the g league season, meaning he likely won't join the Celtics for their remaining preseason games..so it seems like they won't actually sign Scrubb until after preseason is over..at which time they'd just sign him to a regular g league contract (not a 2-way, since we have those spots filled already).
But if that's the case, why bother announcing that he's signing exhibit 10 now? Seems confusing..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything
