younggunsmn wrote:What was different in 20/21 when Randle shot 41% from 3 on 5.5 attempts per game and 81% from the line?
Every other year of his career he's been below 35% from 3 and below 80% from the line.
He had a pretty putrid supporting cast that year with Elfrid Payton getting the bulk of the PG minutes.
https://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/ny/season/2021/seasontype/2
So it wasn't a spacing problem.
He also played a career high 37.6 minutes per game that year.
Is it mechanics, consistency?
Did he shoot better that season because he was the #1 option and more locked in?
In his 2 seasons with Brunson, he shot 34.3% and 31.1% from deep.
If we can get him to 37-38% it will completely change the dymanics of how team defend us.
His one season with Finch in New Orleans, he averaged 21.4 PPG on only 14.9 FGA.
He shot 34.4% on 2.7 3PA and 52.4% overall, for a True Shooting % of 60%, the best shooting year of his career since he started shooting 3 pointers.
Can he replicate that here where he somewhat limits his 3 point attempts, shoots 56%+ from 2, and gets to the line?
His ability to create 3 point attempts for teammates both from the post and draw and kick should be a big improvement over KAT,
along with pushing and finishing in transition.

so many people are going to eat their words about randle

So far, it's all good — and pleasantly surprising — for the Randles in Minnesota.
"I'm not going to lie, when we heard Minnesota it was pretty shocking, although we were so ready to leave New York. Living in a condo with two kids is so hard. I don't care what anyone says, it was a great experience but we were already looking to move outside of the city. It was getting so hard and overwhelming for us because my husband is from Texas and I'm from Kentucky and that's just not how we grew up," Kendra explained.
"When we heard Minnesota it was pretty shocking. But when we got here, we were driving around and I'm like, 'these neighborhoods are gorgeous,' like we love it. It's so beautiful, the people are so nice, there's so many nice restaurants. It's just things that you wouldn't know. I know it gets cold, but it's cold in New York, too, and I heard they make the most of the snow here so we're really excited for a new switch up, a new chapter for our family."
Kendra said they are "super blessed" to "have the means" to handle a significant life change that impacts far more than the player in the headlines.

I am sorry but food isn't a strength of Minnesota. I lived in a few places in the US - East Coast, West Coast, South and Central. Minnesota (mid-west for that matter) may have the worst food at the region level. Everything needs to be wash down with a beer. Do hope he works out here and get us closer to a championship then I will change my handle to Timberbull.![]()

The Minnesota food scene has improved tremendously the past 5 years or so.

Yeah, unsure where TimberKat even ate. The food in Minneapolis is quite good, especially when you go to the actual hubs--Lake Street for Hispanic Food, Brooklyn Park for Pho/Vietnamese and West Suburbs for Indian.
If you're whole food scene is "I live in Woodbury and eat at a Tap Room or a Bar & Grill [or god forbid Acapulco]", then yeah, the food scene sucks. But go down Central Ave in Northeast and there is good food at every block.

I've lived almost everywhere and Minneapolis has some GREAT restaurants. Murray's, Rudy's, Market BBQ, and Mayslack's just to name a few I love. I could name many more, but I'm old and forget.

Did you eat at those places with Sid Hartman in the 1950s?
You're quite spunky for a 95-year old.KGdaBom wrote:BlacJacMac wrote:KGdaBom wrote:I've lived almost everywhere and Minneapolis has some GREAT restaurants. Murray's, Rudy's, Market BBQ, and Mayslack's just to name a few I love. I could name many more, but I'm old and forget.

Yes I did. 1950 as a matter of fact for my 21st birthday. My first adult beverage was a very dry martini. Sid paid for everything, but I found out he put it on the star tribune tab. I love the old school places.
