Didn't know where to post it, but just seen about the impending hurricane, hope all of you in Florida aren't hit too bad and stay safe

It may be a preseason but Houston is going to be a really good team. I don’t know who their future superstar is (my guess Amen) but they have great cast of young players with Green, Segaun, Amen, Witmore, their rookie, and Smith even though he is a role player.

Pat Riley is getting the court named after him and while I do like him and think he's done ok with the heat without Shaq getting tired of Kobe or Lebron losing without 3 other Hall of famers I don't see it happening oh well good for him.

Hey guys... how is the storm/hurricane/end of the world thingy going on there?

Even us in another continent have been given periodic updates about it.

Hurricane should hit farther south of Orlando than what was originally reported. Orlando residents estimated up to 2' of water flooding with certain neighborhoods expected worse due to low lying areas reported on the County website. Fortunately, my house is 2'+ above the street level plus another 2' off the ground. Could be more flooding. I am 15 miles north of Orlando with winds expected to be about 40-50mph in Orlando from reputable Weather stations even though most news outlets state 75mph plus sustained. Worry about the wind gusts of course. I have two really massive trees on my property in my very old rickety house. I should be without power for up to a week by the time they work in my neighborhood. My power goes out periodically during thunder storms. Will wait to see how bad the wind will be in reports before I may have to drive to my sisters solid built house but she is in a more lower lying area downtown Orlando.

Yep...I'm in the North Orlando suburbs too. I've got an acre with a lot of big trees, so the big concern is the relentless rain making the ground soaked to the point where the trees start tipping over. Obviously, the big wind gusts factor into that too. We'll be okay. I spent a lot of money having ALL of the trees cleaned up when we moved in a year ago, so I'd say we've done what we can and now we'll just hang tight.

I lived on the water in New Smyrna for a few years, so I've got to say this is no fun but a lot less stressful than wondering if a storm surge will flood your home -and blow up the Tesla :o . We built our "dream house" on the intercoastal a few years ago and moved in around Memorial Day. In November, a large hurricane threatened an 11' storm surge...I remember thinking "ELEVEN FEET? That's like my roofline - what have we just sunk our life savings into?". Ironically, the next thought was "we should be living on the side of a mountain in Asheville". Anyway, the storm surge was limited but we ended up back in Seminole County in a few years anyway. I guess the moral is "there's nowhere to hide from Mother Nature".

Hang in there locals and thanks for the wishes from the rest of you.

Better than Suggs at playmaking? Maybe. But overall, he is not there yet.

sorry my dude, but not yet anyway. He has the potential down the road. He certainly is ahead of Suggs in terms of where they are at in their 2nd years in the league

Suggs showed more in college than Black has shown his rookie year. I dont believe AB is ahead of Suggs in their 2nd years.

Return to Orlando Magic
