It's the Raptors 30th season in the league. Let's rank your 10 favorite Raptors seasons.
Instead of debating how hard we should tank this year, lets do something more fun. I said 10 seasons cause we haven't had a huge amount of total success so it gets more interesting when you're picking 10 with the lesser seasons. You can mention which season you started watching as well, I started during Vince's rookie year. There's no wrong answers, it's your personal faves.
Here's mine.
1. 2018/2019 - The obvious easy pick. Championship year, hype to start the season, lots of focus around the league on the team and we lived up to it. After the Gasol trade, the teams depth was insane. The team was littered with All-NBA/All Stars and future All-NBA and All Stars. Several all defensive team guys. A bench with FVV, Powell, Ibaka. A defense that shut down Embiid and Giannis.
2. 2015/2016 - Lowry/Derozan and the first time the Raptors won more than 50 games and made it all the way to the conference finals. Even managed to win 2 games against Lebron (and we never would again). Not the deepest team (and definitely not the second most talented Raptors team), but we had a rookie Norm, plus JV and Biyombo were fun in the playoffs.
3. 2019/2020 - Even after Kawhi left we were still basking in that post Championship vibe. It only was made better by just how good we were in the regular season that year. Best regular season in Raptors history. 53-19 and would have won 60 in a full season worth of games. Siakam/FVV/OG/Norm took huge leaps and basically proved Kawhi did not win by himself the year before. Really the only reason this season doesn't rank second for me is the COVID disruption (which also led to Siakam being terrible in the playoffs). I could even be convinced it should rank second. Making it as deep as Kawhi did after he left was satisfying at least.
4. 2000/2001 - The best season of VC's career and maybe the peak of Vinsanity. Lots of hope for the future of the team after we won our first playoff series. Rookie Mo Pete, Keon Clark, AD, Dell Curry and Oak were a fun and decent supporting cast. This really looked like the start of the something and not the peak of it. Everyone expected the Raps to keep taking leaps.
5. 2017/2018 - The bench mob season. In hindsight, we were probably not as good as our amazing regular season record of 59-23 for the playoffs, because the reason we won so many games was our bench (Siakam/FVV/Norm/Delon/Jakob) was significantly more talented than every other bench in the league and you can see why with how their careers turned out. Rookie OG as well. The end of the season was basically the end of the Derozan/Lowry era.
6. 2013/2014 - The Rudy Gay trade season (and Bargnani too). The start of the Masai era, the immediate improvement in vibes post Rudy Gay trade was amazing. The team went on a huge run, and that first playoff series was great even if we lost because of how dedicated the fanbase was. Don't think we've even cheered as loud since.
7. 2006/2007 - The peak for the Bosh era Raptors and BC's first season as GM when everyone thought he may actually be a genius. We significantly outperformed expectations, Bargnani had a promising rookie year and if you squinted you could see Dirk. Ford, Parker, Calderon, Rasho and Garbajosa were great depth. Still think we beat the Nets if Garbajosa didn't get injured.
8. 1999/2000 - Our first playoff berth, and VC ascending to being a real star in his second season. My memories of this are limited cause I was 9 years old but it was fun to watch and we were on US channels a bunch.
9. 2021/2022 - After the terrible Tampa year we made the unexpected pick in Scottie. He immediately proves every hater wrong and is a significantly better scorer than anyone could have possibly expected. Between Barnes/Siakam/FVV/OG/GTJ we have a starting lineup that was pretty talented, but the lack of center killed us and would continue to do so.
10. 2016/2017- Honestly this one was hard cause it was kind of a meh season with a terrible playoff series against Lebron. Lots of future pieces on this team that would establish themselves later on. Also thought about 2007/2008 and 01/02 here cause I liked Calderons breakout season personally, and the run the non-VC players made in 01/02.

Good picks! I would add the 2001/2002 season because it was such a roller coaster. The team then suffered a 13-game losing streak, losing 17 of their first 18 games after the All-Star break, but then went on a nine-game winning streak between March and April, to clinch a playoff spot after winning 12 of their final 14 games of the season.
I remember being completely devastated by the VC injury and the subsequent losing streak, only to be completely euphoric after winning so many games to make the playoffs behind Alvin, AD, MoPete and Keon Clark. Then we almost won the 1st round series too, it was a wild ride that year.

No love for 1995–96? Product wasn't great, but it was a fun ride having a team.

10 is tough, so I'll give the 4 that instantly come to mind...
1) 19-20...the guys came in with their confidence flying high and a chip on their shoulder after Kawhi bounced. 15 game winning streak and game 7 against the Celtics with the OG shot.
2) 18-19...self explanatory.
3) 13-14...the dawn of We The North post Gay-trade and just like 19-20, a season where the entire roster played cohesive basketball.
4) 00-01...Vinsanity peak...game winners, dunks, trading 50's with Iverson in the 2nd round.

18-19 Championship is #1.
15-16 ECF run
19-20 Still had peak Lowry.
13-14 post Rudy Gay trade and first playoff run of the Lowry/DD era. Let's go Raptors/VC sucks chant.
00-01 First real playoff run, the VC/AI battle was legendary.
06-07 First playoff run since VC, the Euros we brought in, and the glimmer of hope we had with BC.
16-17 Powell owning the Bucks, but swept by CLE.
17-18 Beating the Wizards, but Lebronto RIP.
01-02 Beat the Pistons, but vibes were off.
21-22 Despite the talent loss, still enjoyed watching our 6'9" lineups when they were clicking.

2018-19 - Championship Run
2001-02 - Peak Carter was amazing to watch and those 2 playoff series were some of the best.
2006-07- Cinderella Season after an abysmal start, I have never seen a Raptor team gel like this squad, they played more then the sum of their parts, and probably had one of the best ball movement of any Raptors team. This season also had a large number of buzzer beaters including Mopete/Ruffins. If Garbo did not go down, and the team gelled from the start, this would have been a mid to high 50 win team.
2015-16 - ECF run was amazing, a little frustrating with DeRozan, but that team had so much energy.
2013-14 - 06-07 lite, the team gelled and became something special, didn't quiet have the highs and lows of 06-07.

Pretty good list.
I'd move '13-'14 up to the top 3. The Lowry breakout holds a very special place in my heart. I'd move '99-'2000 up slightly as well; that was the year the Raptors overtook the Leafs and Jays for me. And I'd sub '01-'02 in for '16-'17. Yeah we were chasing the 8 seed, but it was fun to watch Davis and his double doubles carry us there to end the season.

It was just a team that had all of its role players play very well and no one acted as an anchor. Beyond Bosh, Ford was decent, but it was Calderon who took a huge jump from the prior season and was incredibly effective off the bench. Parker was a super steadying force, automatic from three that year and didn't make mistakes. Garbajosa and Mo Pete were also good in their roles, and Bargnani was better than expected as a rookie.
Interestingly the team the year after was much better by their expected record (49-33). They were 9th offensively and 13th defensively and just played poorly in close games. That followup year Calderon was genuinely amazing, played out of his mind for about 3 months and by every advanced measure (VORP, WS, BPM) was a top 20 player in the league, and Bosh took a leap. They should have been better, and because they underperformed their peripherals BC traded for Jermaine O'Neal who was godawful and that was it for those teams.

Short of it was, and this happened in 01-02. Players got old quick, and we could not replace the steadiness and BBIQ of those players once they left/aged out, the depth also got depleted because of it. More over, the unselfishness they played with in 06-07 was completely gone because the BBIQ took a nose dive particularly in the starting lineup. Parker, Rasho took a step back due to age, Garbo was not replaced, Ford injured. Bargs and Calderon forced into starting which depleted the bench, and as we know their defenses were not good. The only reliable bench guy was now Delfino, but we called him Chuckfino for a reason...killed ball movement, but he still provided offense and a flop charge every game.
Long of it, Parker and Rasho lost their speed the very next next year, Parker didnt have his first step anymore by year 2 and it was noticeable, he use to get blowby dunks from the corner, and now he was relegated to spotup 3s which he was still good at. Rasho was a Gasol lite, played angles really really well and had fantastic hands and communicated and anchored the Defense and had a reliable 18-20 jumper which he hit regularly off of Bosh and Fords penetration, but he got noticeably slower as well, but it was more that Bargs was now ready to start and the help defense was not there once he did (Bargs man defense was good though), but by starting Bargs, they lost a gunner off the bench. Ford got injured (F#CK Horford), Calderon started but now we had no good backup after that, and Fordaron was a huge part of their success the previous year and now we were stuck with forcing Dixon as a backup experiment which didnt work and Darrick Murray was...Darrick Murry. Garbo injury left the biggest void that was never filled again, hopes were on Joey but in the 06-07 playoffs he was exposed, and Jamario was likewise exposed in the playoffs (07-08) and shot ill advised 3s and bit on every single pump fake, the dropoff in BBIQ and talent was huge for such an important position. The balance of the starting 5 and bench was gone.
The years after 07-08, it was desperation trades and signings by BC with no thought of fit. The We the North era, was able to do what the VC and Bosh years could not do, and that was replace and upgrade the veterans as they aged out through drafting and smart trades.

Since I'm lazy and don't actually remember dates, just players n moments
-Parker Fred Jones Mo Pete Garbo Ford/Calderon team. That was cool.
-I actually like when skip to Lou first came here.
-Alvin Williams in the playoffs when they beat the Knicks,
-Cambys rookie year(not sure y we traded him)
DeMar/Lowry east finals
Rookie Vince was crazy
2nd yr Vince with a jumper was crazy
Rookie Bargs, lol lol, (diehard fan, I just wanted to believe he was the real deal)
That year we were supposed to get Nash and Matt Barnes but ended up with Landry fields, that was a **** show, smh

For me it is:
2020: My absolute favorite season - our chemistry was incredible despite losing Kawhi. We were on pace for over 60 wins. Lowry was still in his prime, and we had Fred, Siakam, OG and Norm emerging. Ibaka and Gasol was a lethal frontcourt duo. Really wish COVID never happened because I thought that team could legitimately run it back.
2019: Championship season
2016: Just an amazing year - Lowry and Derozan emerging as one of the league's best duo's, getting 56 wins and making the ECF.
2018: Just an amazing year until we flamed out against the Cavs.
2001: The best Vince season and that Sixers series.
2000: Vince emerging as a superstar.
2014: We the North era begins and we unexpectedly became a really good team out after trading Rudy.
2007: That team had great chemistry offensively - really sucked TJ Ford and Garbo suffered NBA career ending injuries because they were both studs.
