one side of my building is a sieve now and dripping heavy inside. My side doesn't face west so I'm not taking on any water yet. Still have power and internet for now whereas lots of folks in the area have already gone dark.

My neighbors brought their 12 cats to our building for sanctuary and we'll sit down to cornish game hens and guiness stout in a few minutes. Hope to still be able to tune in to the game afterwards.

Winds at 45 now, rain blowing sideways, about to hit 75 in another 90 minutes. Dead center strike on the town of Sarasota below us in Tampa Bay so we'll be on outer edge of the cone in upper Pinellas County. That means instead of being smacked by 125 MPH winds we'll shave off 50 MPH though it will probably gust to over 100 MPH anyway.

The way the storm is positioned means Tampa Bay has a prayer that the top end of the storm will now pull the water out the bay and spare Tampa. But all barrier islands are cooked regardless of the physics. They're all underwater now

Got power and internet back about an hour ago though many homes in the area are still dark.

I slept 3 hours this afternoon because this stuff leaves your nervous system exhausted even if you're not sleepy.

When I browsed through the GT thread it was noticeable how the negative nancies disappeared once we started playing well and they have basically stayed away from the PG thread.
