we won 47 games with Bargs n Bosh? WTF happened the next year. It's all a blur now for me. lol mans are getting old

Here is what happened:

1) TJ Ford suffered a career ending injury in early 2008 - we had arguably the best PG tandem in the league the year before with Ford and Calderon. Ford was emerging into a really damn good player and in my opinion was a borderline all-star that season. He was clutch as hell also with a lethal mid-range game.

2) Garbo getting hurt - Garbajosa was an amazing signing from Europe and quickly emerged as one of the best 3+D glue guys in the league. At the end of the 2007 season he also suffered an NBA career ending injury, which really hurt our perimeter defense the next season.

Those two losses were really unlucky and bad losing two critical starters. We basically lost an up and coming point guard who had all-star potential and one of the best 3+D players in the league. Because of this our depth suffered the next season and we went from having arguably the best bench in the league in 2007 to a below average bench.

Also athough Bargs was solid offensively, he was so bad defensively and such a bad rebounder that inserting him in the starting line-up over Rasho was kind of a net negative, especially after losing two really nice defenders in Ford and Garbo.

In my opinion if Ford and Garbo never got hurt we would have won 50+ games and possibly have made the 2nd round the next season.

I always tell people that 06-07 team, was actually a mid 50 win team, they had a horrible start to the season before the team clicked, 2-8 and then 7-14 and then 13-19 before their win streaks started, like that team was winning A LOT, even after Garbo went down they had like a 20 game stretch where they won something like 15 games. Had they gelled right away, they would have easily been a 55 or more win team maybe even flirting to 60.

Agree with all the seasons being commonly listed here. Don't know if I'd put it in my top 10, but I've had a sick nostalgia lately for 2009-10. That team had the fifth best offense in the league! ...and the 30th defense lol. No surprise since it was the year of "Ball" Turkoglu and Bargnani and Calderon were still there, and Triano's first season. Rasho brought in for a 2nd tour to help the defense but I think he got banged up, only played 42 games. Demar and Weems rookie years, Amir Johnson's first as a Raptor.

You could say it was the best Chris Bosh season in his career. 24 & 10 on .518 FG%, .364 3P%, .592 TS. He was never that efficient again until his 3rd and 4th Miami years, but he did it on higher volume here. It was the peak of him bulking up and growing his dreads long, so it was also the coolest he ever looked, probably the height of how he was regarded by fans. But it's remembered for missing the playoffs by 1 game and sparing us from getting LeBronto'd a few seasons early. There was anxiety he would leave but definitely not a foregone conclusion that he would give up more money and being The Guy. The Superfriends was pretty unprecedented.

It's an interesting what-if if he doesn't make the cringiest possible choice of joining the Heatles, and instead re-signs with Toronto, has a few more seasons that good, and then requests a trade from the Triano clown show later. That's the path most stars are taking today. He would probably be better remembered by fans in that scenario.

Also I always remembered that team as underachieving, but their expected W-L was actually 36-46 lol. The defense was that bad.

That team was doing reasonably well and firmly in 5th place until Bosh fractured his face, causing him to miss 12 games where we finished 1-11.

-Parker Fred Jones Mo Pete Garbo Ford/Calderon team. That was cool.
-I actually like when skip to Lou first came here.
-Alvin Williams in the playoffs when they beat the Knicks,
-Cambys rookie year(not sure y we traded him)
DeMar/Lowry east finals
Rookie Vince was crazy
2nd yr Vince with a jumper was crazy
Rookie Bargs, lol lol, (diehard fan, I just wanted to believe he was the real deal)

That year we were supposed to get Nash and Matt Barnes but ended up with Landry fields, that was a **** show, smh

We ended with Landry Fields and some dude named Kyle Lowry - don't forget.

Thank god we didn't get Nash, it would have set this franchise back another 5 years given his career was basically over. Ironically we ended up getting the greatest player in franchise history for a couple 2nd round picks. The rest is history.

The plan was to get both Nash and Lowry, Lowry was already here if I'm not mistaken, but the plan was to get both I remember.

I think technically that pick was Steven Adams that we traded away. But obviously still an incredible value for what would become an All-NBA player.

1) 19-20...the guys came in with their confidence flying high and a chip on their shoulder after Kawhi bounced. 15 game winning streak and game 7 against the Celtics with the OG shot.

2) 18-19...self explanatory.

3) 13-14...the dawn of We The North post Gay-trade and just like 19-20, a season where the entire roster played cohesive basketball.

4) 00-01...Vinsanity peak...game winners, dunks, trading 50's with Iverson in the 2nd round.

I’m too lazy to make a full list but this fits my top 4 perfectly. 19-20 was my favourite regular season by far. I loved the way those guys went out there to try to prove the stupid “it was only Kawhi “ idiots wrong. What could have been if not for Covid. Kyle was a beast and emptied his tank for us. ‘Twas he and scrubs who lead us back from a 30 point deficit against Dallas.

Oh, and for OP’s reference, I really got into it sometime during Vince’s second year.

Even though it wasn’t asked for, Worst seasons were 22-23, Vince trade year(04?).

Not to complain about the trade but the trade was for Gary Forbes and a first. Technically the pick was used for Steven Adams but Giannis was still available when the pick was made and you know how bad Masai wanted him. Still worked out well.
