I don't see many minutes for Marjon or Ajax unfortunately. Johnson will get scrub mins, but he should prob be given space to work on his game in the G League.

I would keep Johnson up on the big squad. Let him learn all season from Dame. I think guys can pick up a lot of bad habits in the G-League trying to be the "man".

It would be really hard to ever trust him w/ minutes in the playoffs this year. He's got to work out the kinks w/ time, experience in the g-league, & lower importance NBA situations.

The decisions are still erratic. He's got to play under control. Needs to work on the left hand. Cut down on the over-committing. Obviously shape his body. Beat pressure, cuz he has the tendency to get bumped off the ball & dribble too high exposing the ball.

Things I'm looking forward to him working on where it matters less & then being ready for some real contribution next yr, maybe an impact player in 3.

Hadn't even thought about it till I saw you lay it out. We DESPERATELY need a PG who can dribble. And another big would be nice. And a young wing who can defend and shoot (unless Dairy shows up).

This is 2nd preseason game and he’s got great quickness ball handling length awareness passing for being only 19 let rondo and Dame work with him he’s only going to get better I rather give him minutes than Pat and let’s see how he develops.

There was definitely a “I’m playing in front of LeBron right now” vibe to him tonight.

Let’s see if it holds up against Jevon Carter on Monday.

I suggested Bobby for Gabe Vincent & a pick. Had a good audition tonight. There's your pg/sg.

The pick + Pat for B-Ball Paul Reed. There's your big. Though we gave up Bobby. Just waive Marjon or trade him for an extra big. Otherwise I think Robbins suffices as your 4th guy.

I think there's a bunch of options in-house for 3&d wing. Those guys all need to be tried w/ the 1's & 2's because they're too limited to create, but we keep seeing them forced to do that, making them look (even) worse than they are.

He was atrocious the 1st game against ball pressure. They didn't pressure as much tonight, but he had a few head-scratching plays. Was very hot & cold in summer league. That's part his supporting cast, & just what the experience is going to be.

We're contenders and guys should be able to develop at their pace anyway. This would be ahead of it.

Don't know what Pat has to do w/ anything. He's a sf. Some people are obsessed w/ bringing him into any conversation. Pat Derangement Syndrome.

Brandon freaking Jennings lead a 46 win team in minutes as a rookie.

Give Johnson a shot until he shows that he can't handle it.

Could we get a 2nd from someone thinking they can salvage Marjon?

Preseason game 2 thoughts

-Giannis is very good
-Bobby Portis has started the preseason on fire
-AJ Johnson was intruiging
-Put Liam Robbins on a 2way over Pasečņiks
-Interesting that AJ Johnson & Tyler Smith got in ahead of MarJon, Ajax, & Livingston
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I don’t care if it’s Pat wright whoever give this kid minutes if he progresses and can handle the minutes he has got so much upside on both sides of the ball I sure wouldn’t waste him in the g league! Besides dame he’s our best ball handler. It’s a long season it’s about time that they play a young player like other teams do that are contenders too

I'm fine with him taking some of Pat's minutes if Pat doesn't pull the finger out.

If Ajax could be a lockdown defender athletic hustle guy I don’t think his shooting would prevent him from having a role.

Dre still has tools that are useful, but him being such an anemic scorer just kills everything. Like you could work around his lack of perimeter scoring/shooting if he was super aggressive/explosive with touch finishing at the basket. But if he's a total non threat scoring wise it falls apart quickly.

Maybe, maybe a flyscreen in a window at home.

I now have a mental imagine of an Australian fly* in my head right before bedtime.

I missed the second half tonight, but as one of the resident Andre Jackson Jr truthers here, I always thought his role was to be the glue guy who does all of the little things that helps his veteran teammates. He always seemed to have a strong BBIQ last year, though obviously he made some airheaded mistakes that are reflective of his youth. I thought of him as the kind of guy you could put in the game with Dame/Giannis/Mids/Brook and that he'd have an impact without needing the ball in his hands. I hope he puts it together because I loved what I saw from him at times last year.

Marjon, on the other hand, gives me "gonna come off the bench in the CBA in two years" vibes these days. I don't know if he does anything well.

Screen navigation. Jrue like.

This kid is going to have Giannis playing into his 40s.

This is the way. Reminds me of an Aussie NBL player who got some recent national team minutes, Will Magnay. Defensive role player with just enough skills and loves hitting blokes.
