when I first saw this I was like "WTH".. but after some thought, I like it.. means a ton of time for our 2nd and 3rd units. Maybe the whole game. Unless Joe actually plays our starters for both.. sadly, I can not rule that out.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

For this back to back, the 2 guys I am most interested to watch are Springer and Walsh.
We know what our top 8 guys can do. We know what Tillman and Kornet can do. For the most part, we know what Queta can do. (although he is another guy I'm watching in these back to back preseason games because there's perhaps some untapped potential, especially if he can limit fouls and maybe start hitting 3's, as we've seen him do in practice/warmups.
But Walsh and Springer have (somewhat surprisingly) been getting a lot of playing time in the first 2 preseason games, including a decent amount of mins with the starters/2nd unit guys. And they've both done a pretty good job in there. Clearly, Joe is giving them a chance to earn a role. Especially with KP out for the first couple of months and plus you figure the Jays, white and Jrue will sit out games here and there after having such a short offseason, some of them playing Olympics, Jrue getting old, etc. So we'll need the depth..we'll need some guys to step up further down on the bench.
I just don't know if you can really play both of them at the same time in meaningful reg season mins, due to offensive limitations - especially if Kornet is on the floor and to a lesser extent, Tillman who is also limited offensively. So I think that they're both getting a shot but it seems like they kind of want 1 of them to really step up and be that guy who can earn some legit rotation mins.
I think these 2 games on the back to back will tell us more about where these 2 guys stand and how much of a role they can have this season.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

PG is making his Sixers debut tonight vs Wolves. I don't think Embiid even traveled with the team so he's out tonight and likely also for our game tomorrow.

Whoever first said, "What about Brad Stevens? He might be available." Needs to get an award of some type.

Agree. Would like to see Walsh and Springer get quality time together, ideally with Hauser and Pritchard and one of Tillman or Queta.
Yeah, the deeper bench is important, but Walsh and Springer are right on that fringe of the rotation. This is a great chance to see how they will perform with established rotation guys. I think they can even be played together in reg season if there are shooters out there with them. Both guys show some head's up passing skills, and that with the lock-down defense increases their value if they can play within the system. Having established guys like Payton, Sam, and Luke out there with them will help.

Didn't realize this until Bron complained about having to get on an airplane the other night, but teams make their own preseason schedule.

The back to back was probably Joe's idea haha.
While the NBA is responsible for putting together the 82-game schedule for all 30 teams, the league does not control the preseason schedule and allows each team to handle it on its own. There is no minimum number of preseason games required, but the maximum allowed is six.

Brad mentioned it years ago. They absolutely can choose who they want their opponents to be. Stevens usually picked the Hornets, Raptors, usually East teams and with very little travel. They stressed that the camp itself/time practicing was more important than the preseason games themselves.

I am guessing our starters + PP and Hauser play much more tonight and none tomorrow. From end of game tonight to start time tomorrow will only be about 20 hours between.
For tonight I bet the rotation you see early will be the regular season rotation. With exception being Al perhaps.
