Jake Butt either really hates UW or really loves Rutgers.

My guy, the score is 28-0 and even that paints a rosy picture for Rutgers. They are not “beating themselves” because they have 4 drops.

Locke is good for 2-3 tips a game.

Not going to nitpick anything, this is a very nice road win
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Feel theres not much to nitpick. Second quarter wasn't great, but every other quarter has been very well played.

Defense is much faster too. Been pretty good the whole year

This is the best the Badgers have looked in years. Braedyn Locke throwing dimes, Tawee Walker running for 198 yards and 3 TD, Oline has improved, defense only allowing 7 points. What a fun game

Dominant game. Could not be happier to eat crow after calling out Locke.

Zachman was great today. All over the place.

It's hard to top any secondary headlined by Jamar Fletcher and Mike Echols, but this group is at least close just on the strength of their depth. It feels like UW could be a true DB school now, which makes sense considering Fickell's background with Cincinnati. He brought a strong reputation for developing CBs with him, which probably also helps him recruit DBs.

Rutgers might be more of a dud than we thought going in, but it's really hard to make some of the throws Locke made regardless of who you're playing. Heck, it's probably hard to make some of those throws even in practice. I didn't get to see the whole thing, but what I saw was fun to watch today.

Locke looks night and day better than he did last year. Badgers can win with that dude.

It's almost as if we shouldn't be writing QBs off after a few starts as a freshman.

*and for what it's worth I thought Locke absolutely showed flashes as a freshman too.

That said I'm not ready to jump all the way on board, I want to see him do this consistently week in and Week out. Defenses will adjust to him and I'm curious to see how he responds

They’ve been amazing since I called him the worst qb since mcavoy.

Yeah, props, you've had his back - and had the advanced metrics on your side, too. I stand by my takes (broadly shared, to be fair), but he has substantially improved and is showing his worth the past couple weeks. I hope he keeps it up, obviously. I am never happier to eat crow than for the Badgers.

One of my takeaways from the game yesterday was how much the announcers were blaming Rutgers receivers for not bringing in some horrible throws from Kaliakmanis and every time they would call them "drops."

Nice to see back to back dominant wins, but until they beat a “good” team I’ll reserve judgement.

Locke has a legit NFL arm so it is great to finally see him settling in.

Yeah I echo the Locke stuff. Good stuff for him looking like a very good QB for a few games now - but still cautiously optimistic because the bottom can fall out at any point, of course.

Honestly, I thought Tawee Walker was just a short yardage guy from the looks of him coming in + early in the year - that was a great performance as well.

Return to Green Bay Packers
