Never liked Smitch. He was crap coach and just crap person. When you see him in public. He was never friendly. Couldn’t stand watching his crying face on every single play. Not sure why the guy is still around.

SMitch is a so off-base here.

He took a very harmless comment that could easily have been responded to with laughter or a simple anecdote about a coach that he learned from of something - and he went off *and* got personal. As if he was threatening to share the guy's address over a joke that he should work for free.

This incident reminds me of the broadcast last season on TSN when they had talk about the gambling picks for the night as promo for whatever sports betting company is sponsoring...and Smitch kept talking over them saying "if you like money, don't be gambling it away"...or something to that effect.

I wonder what the TSN producers might have been thinking of Smitch at that time. I wonder if he's back on Raptors broadcasts this season as a result.

Coach of the Year is meaningless award. Avery Johnson, Monty Williams, Byron Scott and Scott Brooks have all won it, yet Erik Spoelstra is still waiting for his first. Who from that group would you want running your team? The Raptors themselves fired coach Casey the year he won COY, and spoiler alert - they ended up winning the championship the next season.

There's a reason Sam was a head coach for one only season after he left the Raptors, despite his illustrious COY award - he's the coaches version of Kendrick Perkins.
