I think they're depth is bad for the regular season due to a lot of that depth probably needing rest days (Embiid, PG, Lowry, Gordon).

For the playoffs, you'll have 5-6 guys playing majority of the minutes and 6-8 or 9 playing spot minutes.

1 - Embiid
2 - Maxey
3 - George
4 - Martin
5 - KJ Trade
6 - Oubre
7 & 8 - Gordon / Lowry / Jackson
9 - Drummond

They'll have at least 10 guys for 8-9 spots. I think Gordon, Lowry, Jackson, Drummond are great options for that 7-8 or 9 spot minutes role.

The concerns to me isn't the depth (which usually isn't that important in the playoffs anyway), but the top of the roster. Will Embiid, PG be healthy? Who will they trade KJ for?

I saw via my notifications a Boston fan, fresh off a championship, was scouring our thread and quoted our posts on their game thread last night making a dig.

The insecurity bleeds deep. Pointing out they were playing starters against our third unit, up 25, midway through the third quarter in their third preseason game is apparently too much.

Speculation... I'm going off the ages of PG and Gordon along with this quote from Morey from Media Day (I think)-

“We actually have quite a few guys who we think we need to be smart about how we manage them through the season while still maintaining a high level of play and keep an eye on the prize as we do that,”

What’s encouraging about McCain’s play is that his misses were mostly open 3s, a shot he’s proven to knock down reliably. At the same time, he showed the ability to penetrate and score inside, even against one of the league’s top defenders, Derrick White, and the tough Celtics defense.

As for Yabusele, I’m curious how he’d perform if we shift him to power forward and pair him with a true center like Drummond or Bona. I’m still not convinced he’s effective as a small ball five. One of the reason why he’s struggling IMO is he has to learn how to quarterback the defense and communicate better, everyone just seems lost when he plays center on defense.

I was impressed at how crafty McCain was at scoring inside so it can be a variance issue because some of his finishes were convoluted, Maxey style without the speed.
