Who is +1 this bull? He didn't get suspended for a game because he's frustrated with himself.

As someone that has struggled mightily with mental health issues, I hate when people make idiotic excuses like this. It diminishes people who have actual issues.

This is Doubs being selfish and stupid. That has nothing to do with anxiety.

Yea. If this was mental health related he wouldn't have been suspended.

100%. They would be bending over backwards to help him which is great. This has nothing to do with mental health.

He's being a selfish stupid **** and you have people making up excuses for him based on nothing.

These posts aged like warm milk huh? Stupid and selfish and bull and all that huh? Yikes

I'm confused. Do you actually take this as confirmation of some kind of mental illness?

I'm dealing with some **** mentally today as well. Pretty much every adult does.

We really have reached peak Idiocrocy were you can act out however you want and just say "I was dealing with some ****" and some people will make excuses for any behavior

Im sorry, but what? Again, they wouldn't have suspended him for "conduct detrimental to the team" if this was a mental illness issue. They would have made him Inactive due to a personal matter.

It's not cut-and-dry, and speaks I think to a broader misunderstanding of what it means to navigate mental health issues. Doubs could have been - and probably was - dealing with mental health issues that resulted in him throwing a tantrum and refusing to show up because of the role in the offense. It's quite clear to me from what MLF was saying earlier this week that he was having some issues with his role on offense. His mental health might have exacerbated how he reacted to it. Maybe a person in a better frame of mind would have realized that skipping practice wasn't going to solve that problem for him, and, if anything, made it worse. But that doesn't excuse the conduct, ultimately, and the Packers weren't going to let him slide by just saying "Oh, it was his mental health." Everyone has to navigate those things as a part of life, and it imposes stress on everyone's mental health.

That is different from a dude who is just depressed about life or dealing with severe anxiety or something like that where it isn't directly related to football disputes. That is something that would likely result in a different approach because the Packers wouldn't see it as a disciplinary issue.

Hope Romeo is OK.

No idea the issue but the fact they suspended him tells me they didn't like some aspects of how he handled this.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

A person can have a mental health issue and it may not excuse the person for their behavior but it can be acknowledged they are going through something.

I believe that's what the packers did.

Yah. Maybe there are underlying things he's dealing with. None of us know. Allowing him to get away with bull because he has some demons can start wading into enabling bull though.

Hopefully it's an isolated incident with Doubs. Maybe a wakeup call that he can miss out on Sundays and the team continues to roll without him.

Carlson & Joseph weren't the answers
Narveson isn't the answer
Crosby isn't the answer

It's time to throw another dart

First game we lost by 5. Narveson misses a 45 yarder. Had he made that the final drive would have been down 2, only would have needed a FG. We had it at midfield with 16 seconds left. But had to throw deep (and Love got hurt). We at least might have had a chance to win the game with a FG (of course Narveson would have had to make that too).

Vikings game, lose by 2. Narveson misses a 37 yarder and a 49 yarder.

No telling how things would have played out. And every kicker is going to miss some kicks during the season. But we could easily be 4-1 and maybe 5-0

Speaking of Mason, saw he has a new radio show now in Milwaukee.

I'll keep harping that they also need to evaluate whether Orzek's accuracy on snaps, and Whelan's transition from catch to placement are part of the problem. Those two were teamed with Carlson, Joseph, and Narveson. I like Whelan as the punter, and maybe he's a great holder too, but that needs to be checked. I'm not sold on Orzek.

I do feel like we can fix Narveson and the reason is that he consistently keeps missing the same way. If he was a head case, the pressure of the last misses would have him over-correcting or missing short. His setup and motion to the ball are tight and mechanical with consistent results (missing right from the left hash). Find the kicker whisperer and click him to the Left a few notches and I think he gets on a streak for us with a lot of applause and high fives.

In case I'm wrong, what legit veteran kickers are still looking for a job? Isn't there a kicker coming back from injury soon so his replacement kicker will be available soon?

I'm not quite ready to cut bait either. I don't think he has developed the yips yet, hoping this is fixable.
