It matters in a close race for playoff seeding. Home court advantage etc. It's not meaningless. It doesn't matter as to how good the team may become during the season but, all wins and losses count.
I didn't say meaningless, don't twist my words, it just doesn't mean as much as fans think it does but ok overreact to one game if you want.
I'm not going to either way win or lose, it's only one game, the first of the season with a newly formed starting group playing against a well established unit.
KP isn't even going to be playing so again, it's not as important as some will think it is.
i'm not tryna twist your wordsjust saying that thibs is almost certainly gonna have this team playing like it means something because 1. it's real regular season 2. the defending champs 3. specifically the team our big offseason trades were meant to counter. of course game 1 doesn't forecast the entire 82 game season, but the teams playing will compete hard and it may set the tone for our new starting lineup for better or worse. as a fan i'm happy to find any reason to be invested in the storyline
Did I reply with that to you? No, I didn't...wtf is wrong with people, are you all losing your minds?
Yes, Thibs will have his team ready for the game and he will definitely care about the outcome because he's...Thibs. The team will play hard and care about the game because...they should, they are paid professionals.
My point is simply and nothing more than, don't place too much importance on the first game of the season, it's just one game.
But....you do you
