Zach Edey has recorded 21 postups this preseason, by far the most in the NBA per Second Spectrum tracking. On those postups, he is averaging 1.41 points per direct play. For perspective, league average on postups in 2023-24 was 1.04. "Just preseason" qualifier, of course.

I made a mistake ranking Clingan ahead of Sheppard in my mock draft. I was initially high on Sheppard and even considered putting him at the top, but somehow I overlooked.

I’m a Wemby hater. It made me so mad that people wanted to give him DPOY when he was on a 20 win team & had Embiid drop 70 on him.

The leagues going to have to do something rules-wise to address this ever extreme shot map. There seems to be no end to it and soon we are going to have games where teams regularly take 60 3s a game. Analytics is well on it's way to break the game. Move the line back, allow hand checking again, truly enforce illegal screen rules. Something. The game is become far too predictable.

The Nets are bad and we have no bigs but if spamming 3s is our strategy then the owner better hope that lots of tourists come to our games because nobody else will

The most 3 attempts IN HISTORY is 70 and we’re on target for 62 :nonono:

Both Lopez and Middleton are broken and are shells of themselves from a couple years ago and they have no assets to mortgage the future. There is no path and this is basically a trade demand from him.

But I do wonder who and what is the godfather package? I don't see a easy suitor as the teams with all the picks probably want someone a little younger. Maybe the Rockets?

Oklahoma sends Chet and 3 or 4 picks. Who beats that package?

I don't think OKC would be interested.

Or Hartenstein, 4-5 picks, Ousmane Dieng and Nikola Topic

SGA
Caruso
Jalen Williams
Giannis
Chet

After Giannis, Jokic is next IMO but seems like there’s an inclination for a Jokic and Doncic duo, likely in Dallas.

A lot of it is effort. Teams dont play hard on defense to have more energy on offense or not take it to the paint aggressively to not get hurt.

Do the Thunder still have a bunch of high value picks?

I agree this feels like an advance, incognito, trade request. AKA "if we don't win it this year ship me out next summer".

I have Milwaukee as a prime candidate to take a tumble in the standings, too.

If not OKC... maybe SA? Giannis with Wemby and Pop seems like something the league would like? And they have picks to burn and some younger talent.

They don't.

Further, I don't think OKC would be interested, but despite the volume of picks, they would be low because what a team wants most in a sell situation is far out draft control to the team they are trading their aging star to. Like we did with Harden and now those picks look to be some of the most valuable traded assets in the entire landscape.

The appeal to these trades is that you are trading an aging star to a team mortgaging its future today in exchange for it's long term draft control. Taking a third teams draft control in exchange is not nearly as valuable.

What I think OKC is going to do it keep most of those picks to see if it can keep a revolving door of rookie scale contract rotation players around SGA, Holmgren, and Williams' max contracts. It won't make sense for them to cash in and muck up their cap sheet long-term, even Antetokounmpo.

So Lonzo Ball came back last night put up 10 points after 2 years out. Good for him I hope he continues to do well. His shot look good and he even hit a 3 pointer. When he came out of college that shot looked awful, just horrible. But to his credit he worked on it and it looks a lot better now.
Fultz just forgot how to shoot and over time his game just declined. To the point where he is not even signed yet.
Ben Simmons never improved on his shooting, even though the videos of him hitting 3 pointers, free throws and 2 pointers are always present in the summer.

Thank goodness that Maxey fell to the 76ers in that 20 draft or we would still be hoping that Shake Milton can find his form and put up another 39 points like he did against the clippers or worse Harden would still be here.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

We can give them the Clippers picks and swaps and throw in some future stuff too? Get the capologist to make it work.
