2 more days of Practice. He might get the call for the 15th spot.

Walker makes the roster now. It would be rude if they let him stay for another day or two lol and make him hope for nothing if they were going to waive him after all.

I gotta agree with that. I mean, if they Waived him, then he could find a spot elsewhere.
I think that they're leaning towards keeping him. They may end up trading someone else, by the Deadline.

What do we got, like 5 Guys Waived?
Enaruna, Harper, Scrubb, Skapintsev & Ward.

They can only Sign 4 as Affiliates. Any others would have to get on the Maine Team, another way.
If they Waive Walker, that would make 6.

The correct decision. Kudos Brad and kudos to the owners.

The most likely scenario is Brad trades Springer in order to keep Walker.

It does bode well for Walker that he wasn't waived with the others. Here's four possibilities for that, though there could be other reasons:

* They plan to sign him to the 15th spot, but as mentioned above, want to make another trade first.

* They lean toward signing him but are waiting until the last minute to see if, surprisingly, anyone better shakes loose.

* They're debating and haven't decided yet.

* Maybe waiving at the last minute would somehow increase his chances of going to Maine as opposed to freeing him up today.

Whatever the reason, I believe it would be a mistake if the Cs let Walker go.

He's a legit NBA player.

They also had Jordan Schakel on exhibit 10, then got waived.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

No decision has been made as of yet - I could be wrong, though.

From my understanding, they have until Saturday at 5pm to waive Walker. And sometimes there's guys who get waived by the deadline but it doesn't get reported by the media until a day or 2 later.

Brad would have just traded for Walker instead of Springer at the 2024 trade deadline, if that was the case..

There were rumors that we were interested in Walker at the deadline, but traded for Springer instead.

It's all speculation.

But I think we will get our final answer in a couple of days.

I think it's down to Springer and Walker.

The difference between the two is Springer is still a project while Walker is someone you can rely on for offense in big games.

As to why Brad traded for Springer instead for Walker at the deadline, I think Brad was not looking for someone who was going to get minutes in the regular season and playoffs.

Brad saw something in Springer and the cost was minimal, that's why Brad did the trade.

Lonnie Walker was someone who would just be behind Oshae Brissett on the depth chart.

Walker also had an expiring contract.

Guess it was not the right time for Walker to be a Celtic last season.

Right now I think Walker would fit in nicely with Oshae gone.

Joe can opt for defense and use Walsh or go with Walker for offense.

Well that’s technically true but don’t you think if they were going to waive him they would’ve done it with the rest of them? Seems like that would have been the play to me. But we will see.

IMO it's a no-brainer. As far as end-of-bench guys go, could you really ask for more? He's talented AND just happy to be here. He probably really wants a chance to be on a team that's competing for a chip.

i figured when we signed walker that eventually it would come down to walker vs springer. and the obvious choice from almost any angle is walker, with the exception of the fact that springer is already under contract. walker has discernible nba skills, while springer is an early tony allen without the offense. springer might end up better someday but walker can help us now.

i think we could find a taker for springer, if not right now then eventually. maybe even nab a 2nd round pick to recoup our losses. i bet that's what brad is thinking.

Could also mean that Brad Stevens is trying to move another player (Springer) before he commits to signing Lonnie Walker IV. Celtics have until 5:00 pm Saturday.
